The best korean fat dissolving injections are the ones a doctor matches to fat you can actually pinch, given by that same doctor, with a plan for what happens after you leave Seoul. If you're flying in, the worry usually has less to do with the needle and more to do with a swollen jaw on the plane, or a firm lump three weeks later at home with nobody nearby who knows what was injected. At Delphic Clinic the doctor gives the injection directly and same-day treatment is possible, so the consult and the injection can share one day of a short trip.
I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director · Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. My background: Korea University Medical Center; Member, Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine; Member, Korean Society for Obesity & Aesthetic Treatment; Member, Korean Filler Society.
Patients who have spent weeks reading Reddit threads and clinic Instagram pages often ask me which clinic does the best korean fat dissolving injections. I can't give you a ranking, and nobody honest can. What I can give you is the set of checks I'd want a friend to run on any clinic in Seoul, mine included.
The short version:
- These injections work on pinchable fat. Loose skin and jaw muscle need other tools.
- Ask what's in the vial and which area it's meant for. Formulations and approvals differ between countries.
- Swelling and bruising are expected at first, so book the injection early in your trip.
- Leave Seoul with the product name, the area and the amount written down, so a doctor at home can help if needed.
- At Delphic, the doctor gives the injection directly, English and Chinese interpreters are on site, and Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station is a one-minute walk away.
If you're weighing this from home, send two things on WhatsApp: a front photo and a side photo of the area you want slimmer, and the dates you'll be in Seoul. Put one question from the table below in the same message, and judge our reply the way you'd judge anyone's.

What four questions should you send any clinic before you book?
You can test a clinic before you land. Send four questions by message and look at how specific the replies are. A vague answer to any of these tells you something.
The second question matters more than people expect. In the United States, the FDA approves its deoxycholic acid injection only for fat under the chin, with up to six sessions at least one month apart. The agency also warns that using it outside that area can cause serious nerve and muscle problems. Korean clinics may use other formulations, so ask for the product name and write it down.
If you're completely new to this treatment, my first-timer's walkthrough of fat dissolving injections in Korea covers the basics this post skips.
In the consultation, is it fat, skin or muscle?
By the end of the consultation you should know what is causing the fullness, because only fat responds to a fat dissolving injection. A doctor usually works this out by hand and by watching your face move.
Three things get confused all the time:
- Fat gathers softly between two fingers when pinched. Small pockets under the chin, along the jawline or at the lower cheek are where injection lipolysis is normally used.
- Loose skin drapes or folds when you look down, even in slim people. Dissolving fat underneath can make it look looser. This is a skin-tightening question, and lifting devices are a separate discussion.
- Muscle shows up as a square lower face that hardens when you clench your teeth. A fat dissolving injection can't change muscle bulk.
The cheeks deserve extra care. Fullness that reads as "fat cheeks" at 25 is often the volume that keeps a face from looking hollow at 45. Before removing any, I'd want to know your age, how your weight moves, and what you think your face will look like in ten years. It isn't presented as a way to reshape a whole face.
Two older posts go into specific areas: how slimming a jawline without surgery works, and how slimming the face with fat dissolving differs from treating under the chin.
What happens on the day, before the needle goes in?
Ask to see the product before it's opened, and confirm the area that's been marked on your skin. These two requests take a minute and reasonable clinics expect them.
Then ask:
- How many injection points, and roughly what amount in total?
- What should tonight and tomorrow feel like, and what would count as abnormal?
- Who do I contact if something feels wrong after I leave?
Sometimes a session turns into a menu of add-ons. If someone suggests a drip "for the skin" alongside your injection, ask what it's meant to do. My notes on what a glutathione IV drip can and can't do cover that question separately.
What can go wrong, and how close to your flight should you inject?
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are expected after a fat dissolving injection. Rarer problems include nerve injury around the lower lip, difficulty swallowing, skin ulceration and lumps that may persist. Book the injection early in your stay rather than the evening before your flight home.
Risks and side effects to know
The FDA's labeling for its approved deoxycholic acid injection lists nerve injury affecting the lower lip, tongue and jaw, difficulty swallowing, bruising, tissue and vascular injury, and injection-site hair loss, ulceration, necrosis and infection. In a later review the agency added nodules and masses at the injection site.
Get medical care promptly for any of these:
- an uneven smile or a lower lip that doesn't move normally
- trouble swallowing
- skin over the injected area turning dark, blistering or breaking open
- a hard lump that keeps growing instead of settling
The swelling you can expect usually shows up in the first days. Results vary between people. Whether you're suitable at all is decided at the in-person exam, after the doctor has felt the area. For the problems people tend to underplay online, see side effects the reviews understate.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If one of these risks is what's holding you back, send it to us on WhatsApp together with your flight-home date.

After you fly home, why keep this file on your phone?
Leave Seoul with the product name, the area and amount injected, the date, and a way to reach the clinic. The CDC's guidance on medical tourism advises travelers to bring copies of their medical records home and to arrange follow-up care before they go.
A practical list:
- a photo of the product label or the name written out in English
- the injected areas and the session date
- any medication you were told to take or avoid
- the clinic's address (476 Gangnam-daero, Urban Hive Bldg 2F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), its phone number (+82-2-511-8818), and the WhatsApp thread
- the name of a local doctor you could see if a lump or numbness appeared
Your doctor at home can't help much with "some injection in Korea". With a product name and an injected area, they can.
Who don't these injections suit, and when don't you need to come?
Skip fat dissolving injections if the fullness is loose skin or muscle, if what you want is overall weight loss, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. You also don't need to make the trip for a small amount of fullness that comes and goes with your weight.
Belly fat is the most common mismatch. Injections can be used on small, localized body areas. Larger volumes are a surgical question, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons describes liposuction as a body-contouring procedure, not a weight-loss method. Under-eye bags are another one. Under-eye fat repositioning and fat grafting are surgical eyelid procedures, they aren't on our treatment menu, and fat dissolving injections near the eye aren't a substitute for them.
If you're in the middle of losing weight, it makes sense to finish that first. The fat that remains once your weight is stable is what an injection would actually treat.
How do you get to the clinic on a short trip?
Delphic Clinic is a one-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9 and Sinbundang Line), about 70 minutes from Incheon Airport by Airport Railroad and subway. Hours are Mon–Fri 10:30–21:00 and Sat 10:30–17:00. We're closed on Sundays.
Because we're open until 21:00 on weekdays, someone landing in the morning can still fit a consultation in the same evening. That leaves the rest of the trip for any swelling to show itself while you're still in Seoul.
When you're ready, the first step is a 1:1 consultation with English and Chinese interpreters on site, at 476 Gangnam-daero by Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. Before that, send a front and side photo of the area and your Seoul dates on WhatsApp, along with the checklist question you care about most. We'll answer it there, and you can hold our reply to the same standard as any other clinic's.
Frequently asked questions
Are fat dissolving injections in Korea the same products approved in the US?
Not necessarily. Formulations and approvals differ from country to country. In the US, the FDA-approved deoxycholic acid injection is approved only for fat under the chin. Ask the clinic for the product name and the area it's intended for, and keep a written note of both.
Can fat dissolving injections get rid of belly fat without surgery?
They can be used on small, pinchable pockets, but they aren't a weight-loss method. Larger volumes of body fat are usually a surgical contouring question, such as liposuction, which is a separate conversation with a plastic surgeon.
Can under-eye fat be dissolved with an injection?
Under-eye bags are normally treated surgically, with fat repositioning or grafting during eyelid surgery. Those procedures aren't on Delphic Clinic's menu, and fat dissolving injections near the eye shouldn't be treated as a shortcut to them.
How soon can I fly after a fat dissolving injection?
Swelling and bruising usually appear in the first days after the injection. If you inject early in your trip, that first reaction happens while you're still in Seoul and can still reach the clinic easily. Avoid booking the injection for the evening before you fly.
Will one session in Seoul be enough?
Often it isn't. For the FDA-approved product, the label allows up to six sessions at least one month apart. Either plan for follow-up trips or accept the change one session gives you, and ask about session spacing at your consultation.
