A Sharper Jawline Without Surgery in Korea: Deren's “Knife-Sharp” Post, and How I Work Out What's Softening Yours
Turkish creator Deren (@derenbudakk) wrote that her jawline became “sharper than a knife” after visiting Delphic Clinic. Her post doesn't name a treatment, so her doctor explains how she reads a soft jawline and which options fit which cause.

A soft jawline is one of the most common reasons visitors book with me, and almost nobody arrives knowing why theirs has softened. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and I consult and treat international patients myself. Deren (@derenbudakk), a creator from Türkiye, summed up her visit in one line about a knife-sharp jaw. She doesn't name the treatment, so I won't either. Instead, here's how I find the cause of a blurred jawline, the options I weigh for each, and who shouldn't expect a non-surgical change.

Three different reasons a jawline goes soft
Deren's caption is a single happy sentence about her jawline. It doesn't say what she had, so this page isn't about her settings. It's about the question I ask every patient who points at their jaw: what is actually blurring the line?

A small pad under the chin or along the lower cheeks hides the angle, even in slim people. Pinch it and it's soft.

Loosening skin and tissue
The line is there, but tissue has started to sit lower, especially at the jowls. Lifting the face slightly with your hands brings it back.

Common after thirty, and the reason a single treatment sometimes underwhelms.
Bone structure is a separate matter. If the width comes from the jaw itself, no injection or device in this list changes that, and I'll say so at the consultation.
Matching the option to the cause
- For local fat: a facial fat-dissolving injection breaks down unwanted fat in a targeted area such as the jawline or under the chin. Recovery is the same day.

What “sharper” realistically means
In the first days, swelling can make the jaw look softer before it looks sharper, so I ask patients not to judge in the mirror on day two. Fat reduction and tissue tightening both take weeks to show properly. Keeping your weight stable helps whatever we achieve to hold.

How can I get a sharper jawline without surgery in Korea?
It depends on the cause. Local fat is usually treated with fat-dissolving injections, while sagging calls for lifting such as Ultherapy or ONDA. A doctor should assess which applies before choosing.
How much is a double chin injection in Korea?
At Delphic Clinic, the double chin fat-reduction injection is ₩200,000 at the first-visit price and a 3cc facial fat-dissolving injection is ₩30,000, VAT excluded. International patients pay the same as Korean patients.
Is there downtime after jawline fat-dissolving injections?
Recovery is the same day for most people. Some swelling can appear in the first days, so the result is judged after several weeks rather than immediately.
Can a fat-dissolving injection fix a sagging jawline?
Not on its own. Injections reduce fat; sagging tissue needs a lifting treatment. Many jawlines have both, which is why the cause is assessed first.
