How Many Fat Dissolving Injection Sessions Do You Need? Jumy's Summer Glow-Up, and How I Count Them
Jumy (@jumybear) listed fat-dissolving injections among her summer treatments in Seoul. Her doctor explains how many sessions a face or body area usually takes, how far apart, and when adding ONDA changes the plan.

“How many sessions will I need?” is usually the second question I hear about fat-dissolving injections, right after the price. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and I consult and treat international patients myself, and visitors ask this because they're counting flights, not just needles. Jumy (@jumybear) lists fat-dissolving injections in her summer TikTok alongside Titanium, ONDA and Rejuran. I already walked through how her whole plan was sequenced on her Instagram case; this page answers one narrower question: how I decide the number of sessions, the spacing, and when ONDA changes that count.

In her own words
These procedures are for anyone who wants a glow up for the summer. I got Titanium on face, ONDA on Face & Body, Rejuran, and Fat dissolving injections
How many fat dissolving injection sessions does a face need?
Asking how many fat dissolving injection sessions you need is the right question, but the honest answer starts with “it depends on what I find.” Jumy's caption lists the injection among four treatments and doesn't say how many sessions or which areas, so I won't guess at hers.
For a small facial area, such as fullness along the jawline or under the chin, some people see a change they're happy with after one session. More often I plan a short series and decide on the next session only after seeing how the first one settles.
If you want the full picture of her trip, I explained how Jumy's face-and-body plan was sequenced on her Instagram case. Here I'm only counting sessions.
Why the body usually takes more visits than the face
A tummy, flank or upper arm holds far more fat than a jawline, and each body session covers a larger surface. One session rarely makes a dramatic difference there, so I tell body patients upfront to expect a series.
- Small facial pockets: often a short series, sometimes one session is enough for a subtle change
- Double chin: depends on how much is fat and how much is loose skin, which is why I pinch before I plan
- Abdomen, flanks, arms: usually several sessions, because the area and the volume are larger
- Mixed fat and laxity: the injection alone may not finish the job, which is where a device comes in
How far apart should sessions be?
I space sessions a few weeks apart. In the first week the area is often swollen and can even look fuller, so judging too early leads to over-treating. The real change in shape shows gradually over the following weeks.
That's why I'd rather look at you again before adding volume. My week-by-week before-and-after timeline for fat-dissolving shows what each stage usually looks like.
Does adding ONDA change the count?
Sometimes, yes. ONDA uses Coolwaves microwaves to heat deeper fat while tightening the skin, and its 7mm handpiece is the one that reaches fat. On our menu, ONDA plus a fat-dissolving injection is a combination I use when fat and slight laxity sit together.
ONDA itself is usually planned as 1–3 sessions depending on the area and goal, with results building over several weeks to 2–3 months. Combining them doesn't remove the need for a series; it lets each session do more of the work, so the plan can be shorter than injections alone.
If you're weighing the two, my notes on whether 40 kJ of ONDA is enough explain how I choose the energy level.
When one more session won't help (and when I'd say not yet)
- The fullness is loose skin or muscle, not fat. More injections won't tighten skin.
- Your weight is still changing. I'd rather treat a stable shape than chase a moving one.
- The last session is still swollen. I wait until it settles before deciding anything.
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection in the area.
What a course of fat-dissolving injections costs
These are example menu prices per session, not what Jumy paid. International patients pay exactly what Korean patients pay. Because the answer is a series, multiply by the sessions I recommend after examining you, not by the first visit alone.
- Face Fat-Dissolving Injection 3cc: DelQ (ACCU)/DelFit (Non-Steroid)₩30,000≈ $20
- Body Girl Group Injection 10cc (Steroid-Free Localized Fat Dissolving)₩99,000≈ $70
- ONDA Lifting (Face) 40kj (First-visit trial)₩270,000≈ $200
Example menu prices per session — not what Jumy paid. VAT excluded · identical for Korean and international patients · ONDA shown at the first-visit price (regular face 40kj ₩400,000). The number of sessions and the volume are confirmed at the free consultation.
Fitting a series into one or two trips
- 1
Before you fly
Send us a photo of the area on WhatsApp, front and side. I'll tell you whether I expect one session, a short series, or a device to be part of it.
- 2
Visit one
Free 1:1 consultation with me, then same-day treatment if it suits you. English and Chinese interpreters are on site, near Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.
- 3
Between visits
Keep your weight stable and take a photo after a few weeks in the same light. That photo tells us whether a second session is worth booking.
Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Diet and exercise haven't shifted one stubborn area
- You're visiting Seoul more than once this year
- You're curious whether ONDA could shorten your plan
- You want to know the total cost of a course, not one session
A good fit if
- You have a defined pocket of fat on the jawline, chin or a body area
- You can plan for a series spaced a few weeks apart
- Your weight has been stable for a while
- You'd like an honest estimate of sessions before you book flights
Not the right first step if: your fullness is mainly loose skin or muscle, your weight is still changing, or you're pregnant or breastfeeding; I'd plan differently or wait.

“Send me a front and side photo of the area before your trip. I'll tell you whether I'd expect one session or a series, and whether adding ONDA makes sense for you.”
Questions patients ask me about this
How many fat dissolving injection sessions do I need?
It depends on the area and how much fat is there. Small facial areas sometimes need one session, but most plans are a short series, and body areas usually need more sessions than the face.
How long should I wait between fat dissolving injection sessions?
Sessions are usually spaced a few weeks apart. The first week often brings swelling, so the doctor reassesses after it settles before adding another session.
Can you see results after one fat dissolving injection?
Sometimes on a small facial area, but changes appear gradually over several weeks. Right after treatment the area can look fuller because of swelling.
Is it better to combine fat dissolving injections with ONDA?
When fat and mild skin laxity appear together, combining them can help each session do more. ONDA is usually planned as 1–3 sessions, and the doctor decides at the consultation whether the combination suits you.
How much does a fat dissolving injection session cost in Korea?
At Delphic Clinic, a facial fat-dissolving injection is ₩30,000 per 3cc and a body injection from ₩99,000 per 10cc, VAT excluded. International patients pay the same as Korean patients.
