“Let's see how this goes” is the most honest thing anyone can say before a body treatment, and I wish more posts ended that way. What is actually injected into the tummy

A body fat-dissolving injection places a combination of medications into the fat layer of a chosen area. Some components help break down fat; others support lymphatic circulation so the released material is cleared more efficiently.

Our standard body option is a steroid-free formula, which I prefer for most first-timers. The injecting itself takes about ten minutes, and most people feel a sting and a spreading warmth or ache rather than sharp pain.

Is your tummy the right kind of tummy for this?

This is where I spend most of the consultation. Fat-dissolving works on fat you can pinch — the soft layer under the skin. It does nothing for fat deep inside the abdomen around the organs, which is the kind that makes a stomach feel firm and round.

• Good fit: a soft, pinchable lower belly or love handles that stay despite a steady weight.
• Poor fit: a firm, rounded stomach, which usually points to deeper fat that only lifestyle change touches.
• Poor fit: loose, crepey skin after pregnancy or weight loss, where the issue is skin rather than fat.
• Not a weight-loss method: the scale may barely move even when the shape improves.

How many sessions, and when it shows

One session rarely makes a dramatic difference on the abdomen, which is a larger area than the face. Most people need a series spaced a few weeks apart, and I set the number after seeing how the first one responds.

Side effects I tell every patient about

Tenderness, swelling, a feeling of heat and bruising at injection points are common and usually settle within days. I check the area again if anything feels unusual after you leave.

Tell me if you have allergies, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take blood thinners. Reviews often skip this part, so I wrote about the side effects the reviews understate.
