Worried that a Fraxel cost Korea figure you saw on Reddit covers one session, while your scars may need several? Read this before you compare another quote. You'll know what decides the bill, which forum claims hold up, how pico fraxel differs from Fraxel, and what recovery looks like with a flight to catch, so you can weigh more sessions against less downtime for your skin and budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, and a member of the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair.
Fraxel, PicoSure and Potenza are all in the same clinic here, so the method can be matched to your scars. Foreigners pay the same price as Korean patients, and on weekdays we're open until 21:00.
The question comes up often from visitors, and the common mix-up is treating Fraxel and pico fraxel as one laser with one session count.
Fraxel cost Korea quotes come down to the laser type, how much skin is treated, and how many sessions your scars or pigment need. Sessions are spaced weeks apart, so the number of trips you can make matters as much as the price of one visit.
If you're weighing one trip against several, send a close-up of the area in daylight on WhatsApp, say how many trips to Seoul you can manage this year, and ask what it would cost for your case. A clear photo means the figure you ask about matches your scars, not someone else's thread.

What Reddit threads leave out about Fraxel pricing
Forum threads are good at one thing: showing how differently the same laser plays out on different skin. A few claims come up again and again.
“One session fixed it.” For shallow texture, a single session can make a visible change. For rolling or boxcar acne scars, the American Academy of Dermatology notes that laser resurfacing often takes more than one treatment to reach its effect.
“Pico fraxel is the same thing as Fraxel.” In Korea, “pico fraxel” usually means a picosecond laser fired through a fractional lens. Fraxel is a fractional laser that works with heat in tiny columns. They reach the skin differently, heal differently and sit on different menu lines, which I compared in PicoSure vs Fraxel: which laser suits which problem.
“Downtime is a weekend.” At light settings, often. At settings strong enough for deeper scars, redness and swelling can last several days, and for many people the skin feels rough and flakes for about a week.
“The price in the thread is the price.” A figure posted months ago may not include VAT, may cover only the cheeks, or may bundle an injection. Treat it as a hint, never a quote.
Which choices move the bill?
Four choices do most of the work. The rest is detail.
Other lines pair a pico fractional laser with PDRN or Juvelook. If you wonder why PDRN gets paired with a laser, I've written about what I tell people asking which Korean PDRN to choose.
Prices on the treatment menu at Delphic Clinic's English site are in won before VAT.
The same area-times-sessions arithmetic is why underarm laser hair removal cost in Korea moves the way it does, if you're thinking of combining the two.
Pico fraxel or Fraxel: which suits your skin?
Texture and acne scars are the classic reason for Fraxel. Pigment is where the choice gets more careful, and I've covered that side in Fraxel for hyperpigmentation in Korea.
Skin tone matters too. DermNet notes that postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, the dark patches that can follow skin injury or inflammation, is more common in darker skin types. With more pigment in the skin, lower-heat settings and more conservative plans are common choices, even if that means more sessions.
For pores and scars, Potenza is a third option on our menu. It's radiofrequency microneedling, with its own trade-offs: pinpoint bleeding and redness for a few days, and some risk of darkening in pigment-prone skin.
A two-trips-a-year example
Say you're 31, working in Singapore, with rolling scars on both cheeks and two trips to Seoul a year. Sessions in a scar series are usually weeks apart, so two trips a year means two sessions a year. That's slow progress for deep scars. I'd tell you so plainly, and I'd ask whether a dermatologist near you could carry part of the series between visits. If you arrive tanned from a beach holiday, I'd also want that session postponed until the tan has faded.
Recovery when you have a flight to catch
For many people, skin feels hot and looks sunburned for the first hours to a day after Fraxel. Swelling is usually most noticeable in the first couple of days, and the skin can look darker and feel like fine sandpaper before it flakes off over about a week.
Book your session early in the trip so the roughest days happen while you're still in Seoul. Sun protection matters more than usual during those days of sightseeing: a hat, shade and sunscreen. Cabin air is dry, so keep a plain moisturizer in your carry-on.
Weekday sessions can run into the evening, since we're open until 21:00. Saturday ends at 17:00 and we're closed on Sundays.

Risks and side effects to know
Common and temporary: redness, swelling, a sunburn-like feeling, small grid marks, flaking and sometimes a short acne flare. These usually settle within a few days to about a week.
Less common: darker patches after healing (postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, which DermNet describes as able to last months), cold sore flare-ups in people prone to them, and infection. Scarring from the laser itself is rare.
Who should wait, as general medicine: anyone with an active breakout or skin infection in the area; anyone whose main problem is melasma, since the American Academy of Dermatology warns that some lasers can make melasma worse; anyone with a fresh tan; anyone who has taken isotretinoin recently (ask your prescriber about timing); anyone pregnant; and anyone with a history of keloids.
If something appears after you fly home: patches turning darker call for strict sun protection and a visit to a dermatologist. Spreading pain, pus or fever means seeing a doctor promptly. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's medical-tourism guidance suggests arranging follow-up care before you travel and bringing records home, so note the laser used and the session date. Results vary from person to person.
Verified Google reviews
4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you have a tan, recent breakouts or a past melasma diagnosis, mention it on WhatsApp along with your trip dates, and ask whether this trip is the right time for a session.

When a Seoul trip for Fraxel isn't worth it
If melasma is the main thing you want gone, Fraxel isn't where I'd start, and a flight for it makes little sense. If your texture concern is mild, a gentler treatment or a steady skincare routine at home may be enough.
The timing can be wrong too. If a beach holiday comes straight after Seoul, the sun exposure works against freshly treated skin, and I'd suggest reversing the order or skipping the laser this trip.
A self-check before you ask for a figure
Answer these before you message any clinic. They cover most of what changes a Fraxel plan:
- Main concern: rolling, boxcar or ice-pick scars, pigment, pores, or a mix?
- Any melasma diagnosis, or patches that darken every summer?
- Isotretinoin in the past year?
- A fresh tan, or beach plans right after the trip?
- Keloids or cold sores in your history?
- How many trips to Seoul can you make in the next twelve months?
- Your exact arrival and departure dates.
Send your self-check answers and one daylight close-up on WhatsApp, with the question that matters most to you. When you come in, I'll examine your skin and recommend the laser and number of sessions that fit, or tell you plainly if a laser isn't the right step for you yet.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fraxel painful?
Most people describe heat and prickling during the pass. Numbing cream is commonly applied beforehand, and the warmth usually fades over the following hours.
How many Fraxel sessions do acne scars usually need?
Deeper scars usually need a series rather than one session. On our menu, the acne scar package runs five sessions spaced four weeks apart; your own number is set after your skin is examined.
Can I sightsee the day after Fraxel?
Usually yes, but your skin will look red and may feel tight. Stay in the shade, wear a hat and sunscreen, and skip saunas and hard workouts for the first days.
Do you offer Fraxel Dual?
Our equipment list names Fraxel. If a thread mentions a specific Fraxel version, ask any clinic which device and settings they use for your scars.
Do foreign visitors pay more for Fraxel?
No. Foreigners pay the same price as Korean patients, and menu prices are listed in won before VAT.
Can I have Fraxel with a tan?
It's generally safer to wait until a tan has faded, because tanned skin is more prone to darkening after laser treatment.
