Getting Rid of Face Fat in Korea: Angie's Three-Step Plan, Unpacked by Her Doctor

Full cheeks are one of the most common reasons people sit down in my consultation room, and one of the most misunderstood. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam; I trained at Korea University Medical Center and do the consultations and treatments for our international patients myself. Angie, who makes videos for people heading to Korea, came in with a clear goal: less face fat. Her visit was sponsored, so I'll be especially careful to separate what each treatment does from how a single video looks. Here's why her plan had three parts, what it costs, and who should not copy it.

In her own words
(Sponsored) Come with me get rid of my face fat in Korea! … I found it really cute that they have a comfort doll at every corner! English intepretation is available and the staffs are so friendly I even befriend them HAHAH.
First question: is it really fat?
When someone says “face fat”, I look at three things: soft fat in the cheeks and under the chin, the bone structure underneath, and the jaw muscle. A wide lower face from a strong chewing muscle won't change with fat treatments, and a fat-reducing plan on a face that is already lean can make it look tired.
Angie's fullness sat in the soft tissue of the cheeks and lower face, the kind of fullness that energy devices and injections can work on. That's the only reason a three-step plan made sense for her.
Three treatments, three different jobs
- 1
ONDA for the broad fat layer
Coolwaves microwaves heat the deeper fat layer while the surface stays cool. I use it when the whole lower face reads as heavy.
- 2
Fat-dissolving injection for small pockets
A non-steroid facial injection placed into precise spots, such as under the chin or a stubborn area on the cheek, that a device can't target as finely.
- 3
Titanium for the skin on top
Three laser wavelengths warm the dermis to support firmness. When fat volume reduces, the skin over it needs support too, or the result can look slack.
If you want the injection side on its own, read my guide to slimming a face with fat-dissolving injections. For the device side, see how I slim and firm a heavy face with ONDA.
The cost of a three-step face plan
Our prices are public and the same for Korean and international patients. The typical first-visit version of Angie's plan, with ONDA face 40kJ, Titanium 40kJ and one 3cc facial injection, comes to:
- ONDA Lifting (Face) 40kj (First-visit trial)₩270,000≈ $200
- Titanium 40KJ (First-visit trial)₩340,000≈ $250
- Face Fat-Dissolving Injection 3cc: DelQ (ACCU)/DelFit (Non-Steroid)₩30,000≈ $20
VAT excluded · identical for Korean and international patients · regular prices: ONDA face 40kJ ₩400,000, Titanium 40kJ ₩500,000 · this is the typical first-visit version of Angie's plan, not her exact quote · energy and dose are set at the free consultation.
Not everyone needs all three. Some patients only need the injection; others only ONDA. Paying for the step you don't need is the most common way people overspend on a short trip, and I'd rather tell you that at the consultation.
The small things she noticed
Angie mentioned the comfort dolls and the friendly staff, and I'm glad. A calm patient is easier to treat well, especially during an injection. English interpretation is available, and Chinese interpretation too, so you can ask every question in your own words.
After the visit: swelling first, change later
- Injection spots can be swollen, tender or bruised for a few days. That swelling can make the face look fuller at first, not slimmer.
- Titanium may leave mild redness or warmth for a day or two.
- Fat reduction tends to show gradually over the following weeks, and some people need a repeat injection session.
- Keep your weight stable; that does more to hold the result than anything else.
I've written frankly about the side effects reviews tend to understate, which is worth reading before any fat-dissolving injection.
Before you come to Seoul
- 1
Send a front and side photo
Message us on WhatsApp with your photos and dates. I'll tell you which of the three steps actually apply to your face.
- 2
Plan the order
Do injections early in your trip so swelling has time to settle before flights and photos.
- 3
On the day
Consultation with me, then same-day treatment if we agree. We're a short walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3.
Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Your face looks rounder in photos than your body would suggest
- Fullness under the chin softens your jawline
- You've lost weight but your cheeks haven't changed
- You'd like one plan rather than three separate clinic visits
A good fit if
- Your cheeks or lower face hold soft fat you can pinch
- You want a slimmer contour without surgery
- You want the skin to stay firm as fullness reduces
- You can allow a few days for injection swelling to settle
Not the right first step if: your face is already lean, the width comes mainly from jaw muscle or bone, you're pregnant or breastfeeding, or you have a pacemaker or metal implants in the area; a fat-reducing plan could make your face look older in those cases.

“Send me a front and side photo before your trip. I'll tell you honestly whether your fullness is fat at all, and which one or two steps would be enough.”
Questions patients ask me about this
How can I get rid of face fat in Korea without surgery?
Common options are microwave devices such as ONDA for the broader fat layer and fat-dissolving injections for small pockets, sometimes with Titanium to support the skin. A doctor should first confirm that the fullness is fat rather than muscle or bone.
How much do ONDA, Titanium and a face fat-dissolving injection cost together?
At Delphic Clinic, ONDA face 40kJ (₩270,000) plus Titanium 40kJ (₩340,000) at first-visit prices plus a 3cc facial fat-dissolving injection (₩30,000) totals ₩640,000, VAT excluded. International patients pay the same as Korean patients.
How much is a facial fat-dissolving injection in Korea?
At Delphic Clinic, a 3cc non-steroid facial fat-dissolving injection is ₩30,000 and the double chin first-visit option is ₩200,000 (VAT excluded). The dose depends on the area.
Will my face look swollen after a fat-dissolving injection?
Usually yes, for a few days. Swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection spots is common and can make the face look fuller at first before it settles.
How many sessions does face fat reduction take?
Some people see change after one visit, while others need repeat injection sessions. Change tends to show gradually over weeks, and the number of sessions depends on how much fat there is.
