Does Rejuran Hurt? Cindy's “No Pain, No Gain” Visit in Seoul, Answered by Her Doctor
Cindy (@carpeciindy) summed up her Rejuran visit in four words: no pain, no gain. Her doctor explains honestly how much it stings, why it's worth it for some skin, and why it isn't for everyone.

Cindy's caption is four words long, and it answers the question I'm asked most about Rejuran: does it hurt? I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center, and I consult and treat international patients myself — including a lot of first-time Rejuran patients who arrive having seen it everywhere online. I'd rather give you an honest answer than a reassuring one. Here's how much it stings, how we manage that, what it does for skin, what it costs, and who should choose something else.

In her own words
for beauty, no pain no gain🥺
The honest answer: yes, it stings
Rejuran is given as many small injections close to the surface of the skin. Each one is quick, but there are a lot of them, and the sensation is a sharp sting. Cindy's caption is fair.
Numbing cream goes on first, and I work steadily so it's over sooner. Some areas, around the nose and close to bone, feel stronger than the cheeks. You can always ask me to pause.
Why people put up with the sting
Rejuran's main ingredient is polynucleotide (PN), a biocompatible substance. It supports regeneration of the epidermis and dermis, which is why I use it for skin that has become thin, tired or uneven — fine lines, pores and oil-water balance all live in that layer.
That's different from a hydrating booster that mainly adds moisture. If you want to understand the difference, my piece on how Rejuran rebuilds skin from the inside goes further.
The bumps afterwards, and how to plan around them
Right after Rejuran you'll see small raised bumps where each injection went in. They usually settle within about 1–3 days. For most people that's a quiet day indoors, not a lost week.
- Skip makeup until the doctor says it's fine.
- Avoid saunas and heavy exercise on the day.
- Book Rejuran where you have a quieter day in your schedule, not before a big event.
- Daily sunscreen helps the skin recover evenly.
Rejuran and the “glass skin” idea
Cindy tagged her post #glassskin. I think of glass skin as skin that reflects light evenly — smooth texture, good hydration, calm tone. Rejuran can help the texture and hydration side, often over more than one session; it isn't an instant filter.
I've written about what I actually do to move a patient towards Korean glass skin, which usually combines more than one step.
What Rejuran costs at Delphic
Our prices are published, and international patients pay exactly what Korean patients pay. Here's the typical first-visit option.
- Rejuran Healer 2cc (First-visit trial)₩178,000≈ $130
VAT excluded · identical for Korean and international patients · regular price: Rejuran Healer 2cc ₩350,000. Cindy's exact volume wasn't posted; this is the typical first-visit option. Final plan at the free consultation.
Other volumes and Rejuran types, such as for the eye area, are priced separately. My Rejuran cost guide lists what I actually charge.

Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Skincare doesn't seem to sink in the way it used to
- Your makeup looks cakey on dry patches
- Fine lines are starting around your cheeks
- You've heard about Rejuran and want an honest view first
A good fit if
- Your skin feels thin, tired or uneven and you want to improve its quality
- You're bothered by fine lines, pores or skin that's always dry or oily
- You can tolerate a short sting with numbing cream
- You can plan a quieter day for the bumps to settle
Not the right first step if: you're pregnant, allergic to fish-derived ingredients, have an active infection or inflamed acne in the area, or have an event the next day. I'll suggest a different starting point in those cases.

“If you're unsure whether the sting is worth it for your skin, send me a photo first. I'll tell you honestly whether Rejuran is the right tool or whether something gentler would do.”
