What a First Visit to a Korean Skin Clinic Really Includes: Berita Korea's Checklist, Checked by the Doctor
Berita Korea (@beritakorea.id) recommended our Gangnam clinic with a four-point checklist. Their doctor goes through each point honestly, explains how a scan becomes a plan, and what a first visit can cost.

Visitors often tell me they assumed Korean skin comes from a ten-step routine, and then discover how many Koreans see a clinic regularly. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center, and I consult and treat international patients myself. Berita Korea, a news page for Indonesian readers, summed us up in four ticks: AI skin analysis, a 1:1 doctor consultation, an English interpreter, and the same prices as locals. Here is what each of those means in practice, what a first visit tends to cost, and who doesn't need a clinic at all yet.

In her own words
The secret behind Korean women’s beauty isn’t just skincare. … One clinic totally worth trying: Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. ✅ Mark-Vu AI Skin Analysis ✅ 1:1 consultation with doctor ✅ English interpreter available ✅ Same prices as locals
It's a routine, not a secret
Many Korean patients come in every few weeks for something modest: a calming treatment, a toning session, a deep clean. It isn't dramatic, and that's the point. Small, regular care adds up, and it's the habit visitors notice when they first walk into a Seoul clinic.
That also means a first visit doesn't have to be a big one. If you're wondering where to start, my first-visit chooser for Korean skin treatment lays out the options by concern.
The four ticks on Berita Korea's list, one by one
- 1
Mark-Vu AI skin analysis
The scan photographs your skin under different light settings to show pigment beneath the surface, texture, pores and hydration. It informs the plan; it doesn't decide it.
- 2
1:1 consultation with the doctor
You sit with me, not a sales coordinator. We look at the scan together and I tell you what I'd treat, what I wouldn't, and why.
- 3
English interpreter
English and Chinese interpreters are on site, so you can describe your concerns in detail and understand every step.
- 4
Same prices as locals
Our prices are published, and international patients pay exactly the Korean price. There is no foreigner price list.
I've written more about what I check during a Seoul skin analysis consultation and about being understood at an English-speaking skin clinic in Seoul.
How a scan turns into a plan
Two people with the same “dull skin” complaint can leave with very different plans. If the scan shows surface pigment, I think about PicoSure toning. If it shows congestion and dehydration, an Aqua Peel and a calming LDM session may be all you need on day one.
I'd rather you start small and see how your skin responds than book a long list of treatments on your first afternoon in Seoul.
What a modest first visit can cost
Berita Korea's post is about the visit itself, not a treatment, so this isn't a bill. It's what first-time visitors often start with: an Aqua Peel deep clean followed by six minutes of LDM, both at first-visit prices.
- 1st Aqua Peel 1 session (Extraction not included/Solution 1-2) (First-visit trial)₩39,000≈ $30
- LDM 6min (Choose 1 mode: Hydration/Acne/Redness) (First-visit trial)₩39,000≈ $30
VAT excluded · identical for Korean and international patients · first-visit prices shown (regular: Aqua Peel with LED ₩80,000) · this is what first-time visitors often start with, not what Berita Korea had · your plan is confirmed at the free consultation.
Practical steps for your first visit
- 1
Before you fly
Message us on WhatsApp with a photo and your travel dates. Tell me what bothers you, and I'll suggest whether a first visit is worthwhile.
- 2
Arrive bare-faced if you can
It makes the scan more accurate and saves time cleansing.
- 3
Finding us
We're on the second floor of the Urban Hive Building on Gangnam-daero, a short walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3.
- 4
Same-day treatment
If we agree on a plan, most first-visit care can be done the same day.
Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Your skin looks dull or uneven despite a good routine
- You're not sure whether your concern is pigment, redness or dryness
- You've wanted to try Korean clinic care but worried about language or pricing
- You have a free half-day in Gangnam
A good fit if
- You're visiting Seoul and want a doctor's view of your skin rather than guessing from videos
- You'd like a scan to show what's under the surface before choosing a treatment
- You want clear, published prices with no foreigner markup
- You need to talk it through in English or Chinese
Not the right first step if: your skin is healthy and you're happy with it, you have an active infection or a fresh sunburn, or you're looking for a dramatic change in one afternoon; a clinic visit isn't necessary just because it's popular.

“Send me a photo before your trip and tell me what bothers you. I'll say honestly whether a first visit is worth your time, and what I'd start with.”
Questions patients ask me about this
Do foreigners pay more at Korean skin clinics?
At Delphic Clinic, no. Prices are published and international patients pay exactly the same as Korean patients, with English and Chinese interpreters on site.
What is the Mark-Vu AI skin analysis?
It's a scan that photographs your skin under different light settings to show pigment below the surface, texture, pores and hydration. The doctor uses it during the consultation to plan treatment.
How much does a first visit to a Korean skin clinic cost?
It depends on the plan. At Delphic Clinic a gentle first visit such as Aqua Peel (₩39,000) plus LDM 6 minutes (₩39,000) costs ₩78,000 at first-visit prices, VAT excluded, while lasers and boosters cost more.
Is the consultation at Delphic Clinic free?
Yes. The 1:1 consultation with the doctor is free, and same-day treatment is possible if you decide to go ahead.
Where is Delphic Clinic in Gangnam?
