Mark-Vu Skin Analysis and a V-Line Consultation in Seoul: Part 1 of Berita Korea's Visit, Through the Doctor's Eyes
In part 1 of their visit, Berita Korea (@beritakorea.id) listed what made a Gangnam clinic worth trying. The doctor explains what each item on that checklist means for you before any V-line treatment starts.

Most clinic reviews skip straight to the treatment, but the part before it decides whether the treatment is right at all. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic a few minutes from Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and run the consultations for international patients myself. Visitors ask me every week how to tell a careful clinic from a busy one. Berita Korea's first video is a checklist rather than a treatment, so this page answers that question — what the scan, the consultation, the interpreter and the pricing mean for you — before the V-line plan in part 2.

In her own words
One clinic totally worth trying … is Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. ✅ Mark-Vu AI skin analysis technology ✅ 1:1 consultation with doctor ✅ Experienced English interpreter on-site ✅ Same prices as Korean locals. Stay tuned for the treatment video in part 2!
A checklist, not a treatment — and why that's the right order
Berita Korea's first video lists four things: an AI skin analysis, a 1:1 consultation with the doctor, an interpreter on site and the same prices as locals. None of them is a treatment. All of them decide whether the treatment that follows is the right one.
I've written a longer guide on how a visitor can tell a careful Seoul clinic from a busy one. Here I'll go through the four items as they happen in my clinic.
1. The Mark-Vu scan: what it sees and what it can't decide
Mark-Vu photographs the skin under different light settings and maps what a mirror hides: pigment below the surface, uneven hydration, texture and pores. It gives us an objective starting point and a record to compare against later.
What it doesn't do is choose the treatment. A V-line question is about fat, skin laxity and bone, and I still need to look and feel the face for that. My write-up of what a Seoul skin analysis actually shows goes into the detail.
2. The consultation: where a V-line plan is really made
- 1
Look at the cause
Is the lower face full because of fat, soft because of loosening skin, or wide because of bone and muscle? Each has a different answer.
- 2
Match the tool
ONDA for deeper fat along the lower face, Titanium for skin firmness, injections for small pockets — or none of these, if the cause is bone.
- 3
Agree the plan
You hear the price, the downtime and the realistic timeline before anything starts. Treatment can happen the same day if you agree.
3. An interpreter in the room
English and Chinese interpreters are on site, and they can join the consultation. That matters most for the questions people are shy to ask: what happens if I don't like it, what's normal afterwards, who do I message when I'm home.
4. Same prices as locals — what that looks like
We publish our prices and there's no separate list for foreigners. The two devices at the heart of most V-line plans, at first-visit prices, are:
- ONDA Lifting (Face) 40kj (First-visit trial)₩270,000≈ $200
- Titanium 40KJ (First-visit trial)₩340,000≈ $250
VAT excluded · the same price for Korean and international patients · the consultation is free · these are the first-visit lines for the two devices at the core of a V-line plan; part 2 added fat-dissolving shots · regular: ONDA face 40kJ ₩400,000, Titanium 40kJ ₩500,000.
If you're comparing price lists from different clinics, my guide to reading a Seoul clinic price list explains first-visit, event and regular prices.
What came next in part 2
After this consultation, the plan in part 2 was ONDA, Titanium and fat-dissolving shots in one day. That plan fits a face where fat and some laxity both blur the jawline. For a different face, the same checklist could lead somewhere else entirely — which is the point of doing it first.

Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Social media has left you with too many treatment names
- You've had a treatment abroad that didn't match what you wanted
- You worry about language barriers at a Korean clinic
- You want an objective skin record to compare against next time
A good fit if
- You're visiting Seoul and unsure which clinic or treatment to trust
- You want a V-line but don't know whether your issue is fat, skin or bone
- You'd like the plan explained in English with the doctor in the room
- You want to see the price before deciding, with no foreigner markup
Not the right first step if: you've already decided on a specific treatment and only want it done without assessment — I'll still examine you first, and sometimes the answer is a different plan.

“Send me a front and side photo before your trip. I'll tell you honestly what your V-line question needs, and whether it needs a treatment at all.”
Questions patients ask me about this
What is Mark-Vu skin analysis in Korea?
Mark-Vu is an AI skin analysis that photographs the skin under different light settings to map pigment, hydration, texture and pores. At Delphic Clinic it is used before the consultation so the plan is based on objective information.
Is the consultation free at Delphic Clinic?
Yes, the 1:1 consultation with the doctor is free. You hear the plan, price and downtime before deciding, and treatment can happen the same day if you agree.
Do Korean clinics charge foreigners more?
At Delphic Clinic, prices are the same for Korean and international patients and are published. For example, ONDA face 40kJ is ₩270,000 and Titanium 40kJ is ₩340,000 at first-visit prices (VAT excluded).
Are there English interpreters at Gangnam clinics?
At Delphic Clinic, English and Chinese interpreters are on site and can join the consultation, so you can ask questions about the plan, aftercare and follow-up.
How do I book a consultation in Seoul from abroad?
Send a front and side photo with your travel dates on WhatsApp. The doctor can give an initial view before you fly, and the full assessment happens in person.
