I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director and lead physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Sinnonhyeon Station. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and I am a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine, the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair and the Korean Filler Society. My days are spent on lifting, laser and anti-ageing care, and a large share of my patients fly in from abroad.
Almost every week a new international patient tells me how long they spent searching for a Seoul skin clinic before choosing us, and how hard it was to tell the clinics apart. From a hotel room or a phone, the websites look the same and the before-and-after photos look the same. This page is the checklist I would hand a friend who asked me how to choose a Seoul skin clinic, including the parts that do not flatter clinics like mine.
Decide what you are fixing before you pick a Seoul skin clinic
Most visitors search for a clinic first and a treatment second, which is backwards. Sagging along the jaw, enlarged pores, uneven pigment and dull, dehydrated skin are four different problems, and they are handled with different devices and different skills. Write down your one main concern before you open a single clinic website.
If you are not sure which concern is the real one, my first-visit chooser for Korean skin treatment walks through it complaint by complaint. Once you know the concern, you can judge whether a clinic actually does that work every day.
Four checks I would run on any skin clinic in Seoul from abroad
None of these checks needs medical knowledge. They need a clinic to answer plainly in writing, and how it answers tells you as much as what it says. For licences and registration, I wrote a separate guide on how to check a medical tourism clinic license in Korea.
Red flags once you are in the consultation room
- A package or membership is offered before anyone has looked closely at your skin.
- The person recommending the treatment is not the person who will perform it, and no one says who will.
- The plan does not change at all when you mention a trip home, a wedding or sensitive skin.
- Questions about the device get a brochure instead of a look at the machine.
- The quoted price on the day differs from the written menu without a clear reason.
One red flag is not always a reason to leave, but two usually are. You are allowed to walk out of a consultation without booking anything, and a good clinic will not make that awkward.

Copy and send: six questions for any Seoul skin clinic
Send the same message to every clinic on your shortlist, including us. Compare how quickly and how specifically each one replies.
- My main concern is ___. Which treatment would you consider, and what would you not recommend for it?
- Will a doctor examine me, and who will perform the treatment?
- Which device or product brand will you use, and can I see it before treatment?
- Is the price on your menu the same for international patients?
- Is an interpreter present during the consultation itself?
- If I come for a consultation and decide not to book, is that fine?
Reading a Seoul price list without being steered
Korean menus often show a first-visit trial price, an event price and a regular price for the same treatment. None of these is a trick on its own, but you should know which one you are being quoted and what is included. I explain the units and price types in how to read a Seoul clinic price list.
Here is one of our own menus as an example of what a written, itemised price looks like. International patients pay these same prices.
| PicoSure Toning (Face) + Mask, 1 Session | ₩50,000$40 |
| PicoSure Toning + Mask, 5 Sessions (Face) | ₩250,000$180 |
| PicoSure (Zoom Pass), 1 Session (Face) | ₩150,000$110 |
| PicoSure Body Toning, 1 Session (Armpits/Knees/Elbows/Heels/Nipples/Ankles - Choose 1 Area, Both Sides) | ₩90,000$70 |
| PicoSure Body Toning, 1 Session (Bikini Line) | ₩100,000$70 |
| Pico Sure Toning + 1 Session of Mask (First-visit trial) | ₩40,000$30 |
When I tell a visitor not to book anything yet
- You are flying home within a day and the treatment you want leaves visible redness or marks.
- Your skin is currently sunburned, irritated or in an active flare.
- You are hoping one session will do what a course or surgery would do.
- Your main worry is something a dermatology specialist or another doctor should assess first.
In those cases the honest plan is a consultation now and treatment on a later trip, or no treatment at all. A clinic that is comfortable saying this is a clinic you can trust with the rest.
Fitting a skin clinic visit into a short Seoul trip
- 1
Before you fly
Send your questions and a few clear photos. Tell the clinic your travel dates so the plan fits them.
- 2
Early in the trip
Book the consultation in your first days, so any redness has settled before photos or your flight home.
- 3
Treatment day
If the doctor confirms the treatment suits you, same-day treatment is often possible.
- 4
Before you leave
Ask for written aftercare and how to contact the clinic once you are home.

Verified Google reviews
4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you are still comparing clinics, come and compare us properly. In a free one-to-one consultation I will examine your skin, tell you what I would and would not do, and leave the decision with you. English and Chinese interpreters are on site, international patients pay the same price as Korean patients, and we are one minute from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose a Seoul skin clinic as a foreigner?
Start from your skin concern, then check four things before you book: who performs the treatment, which genuine device or product is used, whether the price is written down and the same for locals, and whether the clinic will tell you when you do not need something.
Do Seoul skin clinics charge foreigners more?
Some do, which is why you should ask in writing whether the international price is the same as the Korean price. At Delphic Clinic, international patients pay exactly what Korean patients pay.
Can I book a Seoul skin clinic consultation and treatment on the same day?
Often yes. At Delphic, same-day treatment is possible after a consultation if the doctor confirms the treatment suits your skin, which helps on a short trip.
Do I need to speak Korean at a skin clinic in Seoul?
Not at clinics that see international patients regularly. Ask before booking whether an interpreter is present during the consultation itself, not only at the front desk. Delphic has English and Chinese interpreters on site.
What are red flags at a Seoul skin clinic?
Pressure to sign a package before anyone has examined your skin, vague answers about the device or product, a price that changes once you arrive, and no clear answer about who actually performs the treatment.
