PicoSure for Glass Skin in Korea: Why Aya Called It Her Most Impressive Laser Yet — Her Doctor Explains
Aya (@aya.alhware) has had laser before, but wrote that this was the result that impressed her most. Her doctor explains what makes PicoSure different, what it costs in Gangnam and when it's not the right laser.

Patients who have already had several lasers back home are, in a way, the hardest to impress — and the most useful to listen to. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic beside Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and treat international patients myself, including visitors from the Middle East. Aya wrote that among all her laser sessions, this one gave the result that amazed her most. On this page I explain what is different about PicoSure, what it costs, and who should pick another laser.

In her own words
(Translated from Arabic) Honestly, of all the times I've had laser, this is the result that amazed me the most, mashallah 😭❤️❤️❤️
When someone who's had many lasers says “this one”
Aya didn't come to laser for the first time. That matters, because experienced patients compare. When they notice a difference, it's usually down to two things: the type of laser and how carefully the settings fit their skin.
Glass skin is not one treatment. It is even tone, fewer visible spots and a smooth surface that reflects light. PicoSure handles the tone part well, which is often what people notice first.
What “picosecond” changes
- PicoSure is an FDA-cleared 755nm laser that fires in picoseconds, much shorter pulses than conventional nanosecond toning lasers.
- Shorter pulses break melanin into finer particles while sparing the surrounding tissue, with less heat spreading into the skin.
- Spot sizes from 2–6mm up to 10mm let me treat small spots and broad dullness differently in the same session.
- Because it targets pigment selectively, it causes less unnecessary stimulation of blood vessels.
I've written a fuller explanation of how I fade stubborn pigment with PicoSure, and a separate guide on what a clinic does for Korean glass skin beyond one laser.
A note for medium and olive skin tones
Medium and olive skin often tans easily and can hold onto marks longer. That skin can respond well to toning, but it also reacts more strongly to heat. I start conservatively and adjust, rather than chasing a dramatic first session.
If you've ever had darkening after a laser, tell me at consultation. It changes the settings I choose and how often I'd suggest repeating.
In the chair and afterwards
Most people describe quick snaps on the skin, like a rubber band, with warmth that fades quickly. A soothing mask follows. You can go out straight afterwards.
Mild redness or fine flaking can appear for a few days. The laser's heat can leave skin dehydrated, so use plenty of moisturiser and sunscreen, and avoid retinol, whitening products and peels for a few days.
What PicoSure costs at Delphic
Our prices are published, and international visitors pay exactly what Korean patients pay. The first-visit PicoSure line is:
VAT excluded · the same price for Korean and international patients · Aya's caption doesn't state her exact settings, so this is the menu price for the typical first-visit option · regular price ₩50,000; PicoSure Zoom Pass face is ₩150,000 · final plan at the free consultation.
Stronger single-session options like Zoom Pass cost more. My PicoSure cost guide explains when the extra is worth it.
One session or a series?
One session can make skin look brighter and more even, which is often what people notice and film. Deeper or older pigment usually needs repeat sessions every 1–2 weeks. If you're only in Seoul once, I'll tell you what one session can realistically do.
Planning a PicoSure visit
- 1

- 4
After
Sunscreen every few hours outdoors — Seoul summers are bright. Message us with any questions.
Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Makeup no longer evens out your tone
- Marks from old breakouts linger for months
- Your skin looks dull even when you're rested
- Past lasers left you wanting a more noticeable change
A good fit if
- Your tone looks uneven or dull and you want a brighter, clearer look
- You have scattered spots or pigment that skincare hasn't faded
- You've had lasers before and want a gentler, more precise option
- You want same-day return to sightseeing
Not the right first step if: you're freshly tanned or sunburned, you're on strong retinoids, or your main concern is deep acne scarring or sagging — PicoSure toning isn't the tool for those.

“Send me a makeup-free photo in daylight before your trip. I'll tell you honestly what PicoSure can do for your skin tone, and whether another laser would suit you better.”
Questions patients ask me about this
How much is PicoSure in Korea?
At Delphic Clinic, PicoSure toning with a mask is ₩40,000 at the first-visit price and ₩50,000 regular (VAT excluded). PicoSure Zoom Pass for the face is ₩150,000. International patients pay the same as Korean patients.
Is PicoSure good for glass skin?
PicoSure evens tone and fades pigment, which is a large part of the glass-skin look. Texture and hydration may need other treatments, which the doctor can combine if needed.
Is PicoSure safe for darker or olive skin?
It can be used on medium and olive skin, but settings should start conservatively because this skin reacts more to heat. Tell the doctor about any past darkening after laser.
Does PicoSure hurt?
Most people feel quick snapping sensations with brief warmth. A soothing mask follows, and you can return to your day straight away.
How many PicoSure sessions do I need?
One session can brighten the skin, but deeper pigment usually needs repeat sessions every 1–2 weeks. The doctor will tell you what to expect from the sessions your trip allows.
