Korean PDRN Reviews: Why They're So Split, and How to Read Them

I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. PDRN is one of the treatments international patients specifically fly here for, and it is also the one where the reviews they have read are most contradictory.

Almost every week someone shows me a phone with two reviews open — one calling it the best thing they ever did for their skin, one calling it an expensive placebo. They want to know which is true. The honest answer is that both can be, and the reason why is worth understanding before you book anything.

Why the same treatment gets opposite verdicts

PDRN does not add volume or pull anything tighter. It supports the skin's own repair processes, which means the result is gradual and depends heavily on how it was delivered and what state the skin was in to begin with.

• Depth of injection — too superficial and too deep both underdeliver.
• Number of sessions and spacing — a partial course is not the treatment.
• Starting skin condition — inflamed or sun-damaged skin responds differently.
• What the person was hoping for — volume expectations end in disappointment regardless of technique.

That last point causes more negative reviews than any technical factor. Someone who wanted a firmer jawline will not be satisfied by better skin quality, however well it was done.

How I judge whether a review is useful

I would rather lose the booking than take money for something that will not do what you want. I do not recommend this treatment when:

• The real complaint is sagging or lost volume rather than skin quality.
• There is active inflammation or infection in the treatment area — settle that first.
• You are in Seoul for two days and want a full course finished.
• You are expecting a visible change within a week. That is not how this works.

What a fair trial looks like

A course spaced over several weeks, with the same person injecting so technique is consistent, and a decision point at the end rather than after each session. I record depth and volume per area, so the second course can be adjusted rather than repeated blindly.

If cost is the constraint, say so at the consultation. It is better to plan a shorter honest course than to start a longer one you will abandon halfway — which is, incidentally, where a good share of the negative reviews come from.

Local and international patients pay the same price. Interpreters in English and Chinese are on site, so the discussion about what is realistic happens in a language you actually think in.
