I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3. I trained through Korea University Medical Center and I am a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine, the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair and the Korean Filler Society. My work centres on lifting, laser and anti-aging, and I see a steady stream of travellers whose skin flared up on the way to Seoul.
Almost every week someone sits down and asks for a one day acne treatment in Korea, usually with a flight home in three or four days and a breakout that appeared somewhere over the ocean. It is a fair question, and the honest answer has two halves. One visit can do more than people expect for today's spots, and much less than they hope for the acne itself. This page separates the two so you can plan your day properly.
What one visit can change before you fly home
I have already walked through what a full clinic acne session involves in my Korean acne treatment guide, so I will not repeat the whole menu here. What matters for a traveller is narrower. Within one appointment I can drain and clear what is ready to come out, settle the angriest spots, and leave the surface calmer than it was that morning.
What one appointment cannot do is retrain your oil glands, undo a hormone pattern, or fill scars that are already there. Those take weeks. When patients understand that split at the start, they leave happy with a calmer face instead of disappointed that their skin is not flawless by Friday.
Your spots, sorted by what a single day can reach
Look in a mirror in good light and find your main type below. Most people have two or three, and the one that bothers you most decides how much a single day can help.
If you are not sure whether a white bump is acne at all, my note on milia vs closed comedones shows how to tell, because milia will not respond to the same treatment.
A one-day acne itinerary in Gangnam, hour by hour
- 1
Arrive with clean, bare skin
Skip makeup if you can, and bring a list or photos of every product and medicine you use. It saves time and changes my choices.
- 2
Examination and plan
I look at each type of spot, ask how long it has been happening and what has already been tried, then explain what today can and cannot do.
- 3
Acne treatment on the bed
Our acne treatment runs as self-cleansing, extraction with anti-inflammatory injection, then 10 minutes of blue LED light before finishing.
- 4
Optional laser start
If oil is the driver and you can follow up, the Accu (Sebum) Laser takes about 10 to 20 minutes and most people return to their day straight away.
- 5
Rest of the day
Redness from extraction is common for a few hours. Go out, eat, see the city; just keep hands off your face and skip heavy makeup that evening.

The building blocks and how they add up on the bill are laid out separately in my acne treatment cost session builder. Here I am answering a different question: which of those blocks make sense when you only have one day.

When one day acne treatment in Korea is not enough
The Accu (Sebum) Laser uses a 1450nm wavelength that is absorbed by water and oil in the skin, and it targets the sebaceous glands that drive acne. That is exactly why it is not a one-visit treatment. Glands change gradually, so I plan it as a course and decide the number of sessions after I have seen how your skin behaves.
The same goes for adults whose breakouts follow a monthly or stress pattern, and for anyone who has had acne for years. A single visit still helps them feel better on the trip. But I would rather tell you that plainly than let you assume one appointment solved it.
One visit can quiet today's skin. Only a plan can change next month's. I tell every traveller which of the two they are paying for.— Dr. Hyunji Kim, Delphic Clinic
Days I would tell you not to book
- The day before an important photo, wedding or meeting, because extraction redness and an injection mark may still show
- When your skin is sunburnt, freshly peeled or irritated from a new product
- When large, painful lumps keep returning in the same place, which deserves proper evaluation rather than a quick session
- If you are on prescription acne medication and have not told the clinic, until that has been discussed
- If you are hoping one appointment will fix scars as well as active spots
Looking after treated skin on the flight and after
- Use a gentle cleanser and a plain moisturiser for the first couple of days; leave exfoliating acids and scrubs at home
- Wear sunscreen when you go out, especially after laser
- Cabin air is dry: moisturise before boarding and avoid touching or picking at treated spots
- Change pillowcases and wipe your phone screen; small habits matter more than a new serum
- If a spot becomes hotter, more painful or spreads after you get home, have it checked by a doctor there
Bring this list with you, and you will have done most of what keeps a one-day result from being undone by the trip home.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.

Frequently asked questions
Can one day acne treatment in Korea clear my acne?
It can calm the spots that are inflamed today and clear blocked pores, so your skin often looks calmer within days. It does not change why you break out. Oil-driven or long-running acne usually needs a course of treatment and a home routine.
Which day of my trip should I book an acne visit?
Early in the trip if you can. Extraction can leave redness, and an anti-inflammatory injection can occasionally bruise, which usually fades within a week. Booking early gives your skin time to settle before photos or the flight home.
Is the Accu (Sebum) Laser worth doing on a one-day visit?
It can be started on a single visit, and recovery is usually same day. But it works on the oil glands that drive acne, so one session is a start rather than a result. I recommend it on a short trip only if you can return or continue a plan later.
Do I need to stop my acne medication before the visit?
Tell the doctor exactly what you use, including prescription creams and oral medication, before anything is done. Some medicines change what is safe to do on the day. I adjust the plan to them rather than asking you to stop on your own.
Is the price different for foreign patients?
No. At Delphic, international patients pay the same price as Korean patients, and English and Chinese interpreters are on site for the consultation.
