Marie opened her post with a question I think about a lot: when does self-care become pressure? Her answer was intention, and I agree. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. I trained at Korea University Medical Center and I consult and treat international patients myself. A softer jawline is one of the most frequent reasons people sit down in my chair, and a good consultation starts by asking why you want the change. Here's how Marie's three-part V-line plan works, what it costs, and when I'd advise doing less.

In her own words
I got ONDA + Titanium Lifting combined with a fat-dissolving shot, a treatment focused on facial contouring, skin tightening, collagen stimulation, and reducing localized fat for a more defined V-line effect with minimal downtime.
Starting with “why”, not “which device”
Marie's caption is more thoughtful than most treatment posts. She asks whether self-care is genuine care or pressure disguised as improvement. In my consultations, the patients who are happiest afterwards are those who want a specific change for themselves, not an image they feel they owe someone.
So the first question I asked was what bothered her when she looked in the mirror. For Marie, it was definition along the lower face. That's three different issues layered together: local fat, skin that has relaxed, and the support underneath.
Three layers of a V-line, three tools
- 1
Fat-dissolving shot — the local fullness
A facial fat-dissolving injection breaks down unwanted fat in a targeted spot such as the jawline or cheeks. Our standard formula is non-steroidal.
- 2
ONDA — the deeper layer
Microwave energy from DEKA's Coolwaves™ heats the deeper fat layer while the surface stays cool, helping a heavy lower face look slimmer and firmer.
- 3
Titanium — the skin itself
Three laser wavelengths (755, 810 and 1064nm) warm the dermis to tighten and improve skin quality.
I explain more about how fat-dissolving injections slim a jawline without surgery, and why ONDA is my first device for a heavy face.
When one step is enough
Not everyone needs all three. If a face is full but the skin is firm, a fat-dissolving shot alone may be the right first step. If the face is slim but skin is loosening, Titanium alone may do. I build the combination only when more than one layer is involved.
This is where the consultation earns its place. Doing less, when less is what your face needs, is part of an honest plan.
The cost of a three-step V-line
Prices are published and identical for Korean and international patients. The typical first-visit version of Marie's combination is below.
- ONDA Lifting (Face) 40kj (First-visit trial)₩270,000≈ $200
- Titanium 40KJ (First-visit trial)₩340,000≈ $250
- Face Fat-Dissolving Injection 3cc: DelQ (ACCU)/DelFit (Non-Steroid)₩30,000≈ $20
VAT excluded · identical for Korean and international patients · regular prices: ONDA face 40kJ ₩400,000, Titanium 40kJ ₩500,000. This is the typical first-visit version, not Marie's exact dose. Final plan at the free consultation.
The number of fat-dissolving syringes and the lifting energy are set at the consultation, so totals vary. I've written about what decides the titanium lifting cost in Korea if you want to plan your budget.
The weeks after
- First days: tightness from lifting, plus mild swelling where the shot was given. Swelling can hide early change.
- Over the next weeks: local fat reduction and collagen remodelling show gradually.
- Around 2–3 months: a good moment for comparison photos in the same light.
- Keeping your weight stable helps the contour hold.

Is this for you?
Who this combination genuinely suits
Signs it may be time
- Your jawline looks softer in side-profile photos
- Your face looks fuller than your body weight would suggest
- Skin along the jaw has started to feel less firm
- You've tried one lifting device and want a more complete approach
A good fit if
- Your lower face looks full and less defined than you'd like
- You have both local fat and some skin laxity along the jaw
- You want contouring without surgery and with minimal downtime
- You're doing it for yourself, with realistic expectations
Not the right first step if: you're pregnant, have a pacemaker or metal implants in the area, an active infection, or the fullness comes from jaw muscle or bone rather than fat or skin. In those cases I'll suggest a different starting point.

“Send me front and side photos before you book. I'll tell you honestly whether you need all three steps — or just one.”
Questions patients ask me about this
Can you get a V-line in Korea without surgery?
Many patients improve jawline definition non-surgically by combining a fat-dissolving injection for local fat with lifting devices such as ONDA and Titanium. How much change is possible depends on your anatomy, so a consultation comes first.
How much does ONDA + Titanium + a fat-dissolving shot cost in Korea?
At Delphic Clinic, the typical first-visit version is ONDA face 40kJ ₩270,000, Titanium 40kJ ₩340,000 and a facial fat-dissolving injection 3cc ₩30,000 — ₩640,000 in total, VAT excluded.
Is there downtime after a V-line combination treatment?
Downtime is minimal for most people. Titanium can leave mild redness for 1–2 days, and the injection area may swell briefly.
Do I need all three treatments for a V-line?
Not always. If only local fat is the issue, an injection may be enough; if only skin laxity is, a lifting device may be. The doctor recommends a combination only when several layers are involved.
How long do V-line results last?
It depends on age, skin and weight stability. Keeping your weight stable helps the contour hold, and many patients plan a maintenance lifting session after several months.
