Most hydrating and cleansing facials Seoul clinics offer need no recovery day at all, so the facial itself rarely decides how long your trip should be. What decides it is anything stronger you add: a peel, a laser or microneedling can leave your skin red or flaking for several days. If you're on a five-night trip with photos planned, the worry is a plain one: being pink and peeling in the pictures you flew over to take. Our weekday hours run until 21:00 and same-day treatment is possible, which matters when you're counting nights.
“Which day of my trip should the facial go on?” is a question visitors ask me often, and the answer depends on which kind of facial you mean.
If your flights are booked, send your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp, mark the one day you most want your skin at its clearest, and ask which kind of facial fits before it.

Which facials leave no trace by the next morning?
Hydrating, cleansing and soothing facials usually leave nothing more than a little pinkness that fades within hours. Book one of these on your first evening and most people look like themselves by breakfast.
Extraction is the exception inside this group. Clearing clogged pores by hand can leave small red marks for a day or two, so if extraction is part of what you want, keep it away from the day before a shoot. If you're curious what happens in the chair, I've described a clinic facial session, step by step.
A peel counts as a facial, and it needs its own days
Many menus list peels next to facials, and visitors often book one expecting it to behave like a hydrating treatment. Even the lightest category, which the American Academy of Dermatology calls a refreshing or lunchtime peel, has a healing time of one to seven days. The skin is red at first, and scaling can follow as the redness fades.
That's fine on day one of a long stay and awkward on the day before a wedding. The AAD also advises applying sunscreen every day once the skin has healed, which matters if your trip ends on a beach.
If your skin is medium to dark, give the peel question more thought. Inflammation of any kind can leave a brown mark behind, called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and DermNet describes it as more common in darker skin types. The AAD recommends a dermatologist experienced with skin of color before a peel for this reason.
How many days do lasers and microneedling add?
More than most visitors expect, and the range is wide. As general patterns:
- Microneedling, including Potenza, typically means redness and tiny marks for one to three days.
- Fractional resurfacing such as Fraxel often brings several days of redness, then flaking, close to a week in total.
All three are on our menu, listed with the rest of our treatments on the Delphic Clinic English site. If you combine one with a facial, plan your days around the downtime of the stronger treatment.
Where each facial fits in a five-night trip
In short, these are general patterns for planning, not a clinic schedule.
Say you land on a Wednesday afternoon and fly home the following Monday. A hydrating facial fits Wednesday evening, since weekday hours run until 21:00, and your skin is back to normal before Thursday's sightseeing. A microneedling session belongs on Thursday at the latest if Sunday is your photo day. Saturday hours end at 17:00 and we're closed on Sundays, so don't count on a last-minute visit over your final weekend.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
Among the facials Seoul visitors book, the ones with downtime always go at the start of the trip, and the ones without can fill whatever evening is left.

Will the flight home undo the facial?
No, though it can make your skin feel tighter. Cabin air is very dry, and freshly treated skin tends to lose water faster. On the plane, use a plain moisturizer you already know, skip new serums and exfoliating acids for the first few days, and drink water.
Risks and side effects to know
With hydrating facials, the usual problems are short-lived: stinging, redness, and occasionally a breakout a few days later as clogged pores clear. Peels and lasers carry more. The AAD lists redness that can last much longer than expected and temporary darkening of the skin among peel side effects, and people prone to cold sores can get a flare after facial treatments. The AAD describes scarring after a refreshing peel as very rare when a dermatologist performs it.
Problems that show up after you fly are the harder part. The CDC suggests travelers get copies of their medical records before returning home and confirm that follow-up care is available where they live. For a facial, that means knowing the name of any peel or laser used, so a doctor at home can make sense of a reaction. Whether a stronger treatment suits your skin is decided in person.
When you don't need a clinic facial, and who should skip one this trip
If your skin is in good shape and what you want is an hour of being looked after, a spa facial may be the right booking, and I've written about how a clinic facial and a spa facial differ. Clinic or spa, reading Korean facial reviews with a critical eye helps before you commit. An oxygen-type facial is another low-downtime choice, with limits I've laid out in what an oxygen facial can and can't do.
Skip anything beyond a hydrating facial on this trip if:
- you're sunburned, or your skin is peeling from the beach;
- your eczema or rosacea is flaring;
- you've taken oral isotretinoin for acne recently, since many doctors avoid peels and lasers during treatment and for some months after;
- you have an active cold sore;
- you're pregnant, in which case tell the doctor before any acid peel is chosen.
What do you need to know about your own skin first?
Before you book, answer these for yourself:
- Which day of your trip matters most for how your skin looks?
- Has your skin ever reacted to acids, retinoids or a previous peel?
- Do you get cold sores, or brown marks after spots heal?
- Are you using a retinoid or an exfoliating acid at home right now?
- Which matters more on this visit: no downtime at all, or a visible change in texture?
The exact plan for your skin, including whether an add-on fits your dates, is confirmed at the consultation.
You'll find us at 476 Gangnam-daero, Urban Hive Building 2F, reached directly from Sinnonhyeon Station exit 3 on Line 9 and the Shinbundang Line. Consultations are one-to-one, with English and Chinese interpreters on site. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and your answer to question five.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear makeup after a facial?
After a hydrating or cleansing facial, most people can wear makeup later the same day or the next morning. After a peel, laser or microneedling, wait until the redness has settled and the skin no longer stings, and use products you already know rather than new ones.
Should I go to a jjimjilbang or sauna before or after my facial?
Put the sauna first if you can. Heat and heavy sweating can sting freshly peeled or lasered skin, so after a stronger treatment many doctors suggest waiting a few days. After a hydrating facial, a day's gap is usually enough.
Is one facial enough to see a difference?
A hydrating facial often makes skin look smoother and feel softer straight away, though that effect fades over days. Concerns such as pores, texture or pigment usually need a series of treatments spread over weeks, which is harder to fit into one short trip.
Can I have a facial and a laser on the same visit?
Same-day treatment is possible at our clinic, and pairing a facial with a laser is common in general. The trip question is downtime: plan your days around the stronger of the two, because that's the one you'll see in the mirror afterward.
Do I need sunscreen after a facial?
Yes, and especially after a peel or laser. The American Academy of Dermatology advises applying sunscreen every day once peeled skin has healed, and treated skin is generally more prone to darkening if it gets sun while it's still inflamed.
