Hair removal in Seoul comes up in my consultation room more often than people expect, usually as an add-on question at the end: while I'm here, should I also do my upper lip? The honest answer depends less on the laser and more on your calendar. This page is how I plan it.
Why one session in Seoul is only the beginning
Hair grows in cycles. At any moment, only part of it is in the active phase that absorbs laser energy well. Each session catches a different group of follicles, which is why the result builds across a course rather than in one appointment.
That is also why I get uneasy when a clinic sells a single visit as a solution to a tourist. It will thin the hair a little. It will not deliver what most people are picturing.

Areas people ask about, and what to expect from each
Upper lip and chin
Small, quick, and the most common add-on. Expect a sharper sting than on the cheeks, over in minutes.
Hairline, sideburns and forehead
Useful for shaping a hairline. I plan these conservatively, because once a hairline is changed it is hard to bring back.
Underarms and body

A checklist for the day of your session
- Shave the area the day before, but do not wax, pluck or thread for several weeks beforehand.
- Arrive without make-up, cream or self-tan on the area.
- Tell us about recent sunburn, a tan, or any medicines that make skin sun-sensitive.
- Book beach days and saunas away from the first few days after the session.
Who I would ask to wait
- Fresh sunburn or a deep tan on the area.
- Active infection, open wounds or an inflamed rash where we would treat.
- Very light, grey or white hair, which lasers do not target well.
- Anyone expecting one session to remove hair for good.

Frequently asked questions
How many hair removal sessions do I need in Seoul?
Laser hair removal is done in a series because only hair in its active growth phase responds at each session. Our facial areas are priced as five-session courses. Most people see clearly thinner, sparser hair over the course rather than after one visit.
Can I do laser hair removal in Seoul if I only visit once?
You can, and one session will reduce some hair, but it will not finish the job. If you visit Seoul regularly, for example every one to two months, a course fits well. If you come once, I will tell you honestly that you are better off starting a course at home.
Does laser hair removal in Korea hurt?
Most people describe a quick snapping or warm sensation. Areas like the upper lip can feel sharper. Sessions for small facial areas take only about five to ten minutes.
Is there downtime after hair removal?
Temporary stinging and redness can happen and usually settles within a few days. Avoid strong sun, saunas and exfoliating products on the area for a few days, which matters if you are sightseeing.
Is it the same price for foreigners?
Yes. International patients pay exactly the same price as Korean patients at Delphic Clinic, with no surcharge.
