A Korea Juvelook recovery program works in long weekends. For most people, the small bumps and pinkness at the injection points settle within a few days. The collagen change builds over weeks, though, which is why Juvelook is planned as a series of visits. If you teach in Tokyo and your Monday starts in front of a classroom, the question is whether Saturday's injections will still show at first period. For pores and scarring, I run a four-session program at four-week intervals with Juvelook Skin in sessions two and four, so the rhythm is set before you book a single flight.
I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. My background is Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Filler Society. People who live a short flight from Seoul often ask me how to fit a series into long weekends and school holidays, so this is the calendar I'd sketch for them.
If your next long weekend is already circled, send a daylight photo of your cheeks without makeup and the dates you can fly on WhatsApp. Add the one question that decides it for you, such as whether bumps would still show by Monday morning.

What do the first 72 hours look like after Juvelook?
Juvelook is a poly-lactic acid (PDLLA) collagen stimulator mixed with hyaluronic acid. It goes in through many small injection points across the treated area. Right afterward, most people see a grid of raised bumps, a bit like mosquito bites, plus some pinkness. That's the product sitting where it was placed, and it usually flattens as it spreads into the tissue.
Bruising is the wild card. If a needle point catches a small vessel, it can leave a mark that takes a week or more to fade, and nobody can predict which point that will be. In general terms, the days usually go like this:
That's the figure I'd plan a Monday back at work around. If a bruise would be a problem, a three-day weekend gives you more margin than a two-day one.
For the first day or two, I'd skip saunas, hot yoga, heavy workouts and drinking. Heat and extra blood flow tend to make swelling and bruising worse, and that's general advice for most injectables.
Why Juvelook is planned as a program, not a single visit
The hyaluronic acid in the syringe gives a little early plumpness, and some of that fades over the first weeks. The PDLLA part works slowly. It prompts your skin to lay down new collagen, and that takes weeks to show. I've written more about how Juvelook rebuilds skin from within if you want the mechanism.
Because the build is that slow, one session rarely tells you much. Sessions are commonly spaced about four weeks apart, and my pore and scar program follows that rhythm: Potenza in sessions one and three, then PicoFractional with Juvelook Skin and LDM in sessions two and four. The Rejuvelook line is spaced closer, at two to three weeks.
For you, that makes the program a calendar question. From Tokyo, four sessions four weeks apart means four Seoul weekends across about three months. If that won't work with your school term, my first-timer notes on Juvelook cover what a single session can and can't show.
How many nights in Seoul does each session need?
In a Korea Juvelook recovery program built around weekends, one or two nights per session is usually enough. We're open Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 21:00 and Saturday from 10:30 to 17:00, and closed on Sundays. Take a Friday evening flight, come in on Saturday and fly home on Sunday. That leaves the bumps a day and a half to settle before Monday.
If a work trip already brings you to Seoul, weekday hours run to 21:00, so you can come in after a day of meetings. The clinic connects directly to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station on Line 9 and the Sinbundang Line, so the trip in is short if you stay around Gangnam. Treatment can happen on the same day as your consultation, and I do the treatment myself.
If you want to add something else that weekend, check how each treatment heals. Lasers and boosters can often share a day, and my menu includes one-day packages that combine lifting, toning and skin boosters in one visit. A mole removal is different, because a small wound runs on its own timeline. I describe it in my notes on how a mole removal site heals. The full treatment list is on Delphic Clinic's English site.
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are the ones in the table: bumps, redness, swelling, tenderness and sometimes bruising. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain and tenderness among the common side effects of injectable fillers. In most people these settle within days. The FDA also notes a rare but serious risk: product entering a blood vessel. If skin turns pale or dusky and hurts sharply soon after an injection, it needs attention the same day.
Poly-lactic acid products can also, less often, form small firm lumps under the skin. A 2020 case report in the Annals of Dermatology describes a foreign body reaction that appeared long after poly-L-lactic acid facial injections. So a lump that shows up weeks later is worth reporting. Don't ignore it.
As general medicine, I'd ask you to wait if any of these apply:
- an active breakout, cold sore or infection in the area
- a recent laser or peel there
- you're taking isotretinoin or recently stopped it
- you're pregnant or breastfeeding
- you've reacted to an ingredient in the syringe before
If you have a history of keloids or an autoimmune condition, raise it before you book. How fast you heal and how much your skin changes varies from person to person, and whether you're suitable is decided at the in-person consultation.
If a lump, spreading redness, warmth or pain appears after you're back in Tokyo, see a local doctor and bring the record of what was injected. The CDC's medical tourism guidance says the same thing: get copies of your treatment records before you leave, and plan follow-up care at home.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
Before you book, send on WhatsApp the name of any acne or skin medication you've used this year and the date of your last laser or peel.

Who this program doesn't suit, and when you don't need to come
Juvelook works on texture, fine crepiness and shallow scarring. It doesn't lift heavy sagging along the jaw, and it won't show a visible change in time for an event next week. If either of those is your goal, a booster program is the wrong trade, and I'd tell you that at the consultation.
It also doesn't suit a series you can't finish. Four sessions over about three months only make sense if you can actually come back. If one trip a year is all you can manage, I'd rather plan around what one session can do.
You may not need to come at all if your skin is mostly dry and dull from winter or screens, and you haven't yet tried a steady moisturizer and daily sunscreen at home. You also don't need a top-up just because you happen to be in Seoul. If your last series is still holding, leave it.
What should you plan for the trip home?
Before you leave, ask for a note of what was injected, how much, where and on what date. That one page is what a doctor at home needs if anything comes up, or if you decide to continue the series nearer to Tokyo.
Most doctors don't restrict short flights after skin booster injections. Cabin air dries the skin, so drink water, skip alcohol on board and keep your hands off the treated area. Over the next few weeks, wear sunscreen every day and hold off on strong at-home peels while the collagen builds.
If you're weighing other boosters for the gaps between Seoul trips, my overview of Juvelook in Korea shows where it sits next to the rest of the menu.
When you're ready to plan the first weekend, start with a 1:1 consultation. We have English and Chinese interpreters on site, and the clinic is right at Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. On WhatsApp, a good first question is how many sessions would fit before your next school holiday ends.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear makeup the day after Juvelook?
Many people go back to light makeup the next day, once the injection points have closed. Use clean brushes. At your visit, ask what timing suits your skin, especially if you bruise easily.
Does Juvelook hurt?
Most people describe a sting and some pressure at each point, and numbing cream is commonly applied first.
How many sessions are in a typical Juvelook series?
In general practice, a series is often two to three sessions about four weeks apart. The pore and scar program on my menu runs four sessions at four-week intervals: Juvelook Skin in two of them and Potenza in the other two.
Can I start in Seoul and continue the series at home?
Often, yes, if a doctor near you offers a comparable poly-lactic acid booster. Ask for a note of what was injected, how much and when, and give it to that doctor so they have the same information.
Is it OK to fly back to Tokyo the day after a session?
Most doctors don't restrict short flights after skin booster injections. Swelling can feel a little more noticeable in the cabin, so drink water, skip alcohol on board and avoid pressing on the treated area.
