For a Korea Juvelook recovery fund, set aside a few days of leave rather than a week. For most people, the small bumps, pinkness and occasional bruise settle within days, while the collagen change you came for builds over the following weeks at home. If you're in Toronto counting annual leave and reading one thread after another, your fear is probably spending a short trip with a face you'd rather not see in photos. At my clinic the doctor does the injections, and treatment can happen on the same day as your consultation, so a first visit doesn't take an extra day out of that leave.
I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, with a background at Korea University Medical Center. People often ask me how much leave to save for Juvelook, and the threads they quote mix a few accurate points with a few that use up days they didn't need to spend.
If you have a number of leave days in mind, send a no-makeup photo of the area you want treated, taken in daylight, on WhatsApp, along with that number. Ask whether one session fits inside it.

Do you really need a week off for Juvelook?
Usually not. The visible part of healing is short.
When recovery does stretch to a week, a bruise is often the reason. A bruise can take a week or more to fade, and it's the one part nobody can plan for in advance. Leave two or three clear days after treatment before anything you'd hate to be bruised for, and pack a concealer.
The bumps in photos are expected, and usually brief
In close-up photos the bumps look alarming, and they're why many people assume something went wrong. They are small deposits of product sitting where each injection went. As the product spreads into the surrounding tissue, the surface evens out, usually within a few days.
Some bumps are not part of normal healing: one that is hard, growing, red and warm, or one that appears weeks later. Those belong in the risk section below.
Will I see the result before I fly home?
Probably not the part you came for. The hyaluronic acid in Juvelook can give some early plumpness, and part of that fades. The PDLLA component prompts your own collagen, which builds over weeks and often over a couple of months. That gap is why a verdict written on day five tells you little, and it's the subject of my piece on why so many Juvelook reviews are written too early.
Is Juvelook a filler?
Not in the way most people mean. A volumizing filler is placed to fill a hollow and holds its shape from that day. Juvelook is spread thinly to change the quality of the skin over time. If what you want is volume in one spot, read what actually differs between Korean and imported hyaluronic acid fillers first.
Under the eyes, the difference matters most. Thin, crepey or dark skin there often does better with a booster than with filler. I've written about when I choose filler or a booster for under-eye hollows, and that piece includes whose eyes I leave alone.
One session in Seoul can still be worth the leave
A single session gives your skin one round of stimulation, and a series builds on that. If you can make only one trip, time the session so your skin has a few undisturbed days afterward, then decide at home whether to continue.
One visit can also include more than one treatment. My menu has one-day packages that fit lifting, toning and skin boosters into a single day. One of them pairs Juvelook Skin with Rejuran Healer and an LDM soothing step, and there are Potenza and Fraxel combinations with Juvelook for pores. My guide to how Juvelook rebuilds skin from within covers who those suit, and the full menu is on Delphic Clinic's English site.
Risks and side effects to know
The expected reactions are bumps, redness, swelling, tenderness and the occasional bruise, and for most people they fade within days. It also flags a rare but serious risk: product injected into a blood vessel. If skin goes pale or dusky with strong pain soon after an injection, it needs attention that day.
Poly-lactic acid can also cause delayed lumps under the skin. A 2020 case report in the Annals of Dermatology describes a foreign body reaction that appeared well after poly-L-lactic acid facial injections. That's why a firm lump that shows up weeks later should be checked, not massaged away.
As general medicine, postpone treatment if you have:
- an active breakout, cold sore or infection in the area
- a recent laser or peel there
- current or recent isotretinoin use
- a pregnancy, or you're breastfeeding
- a past reaction to poly-lactic acid or hyaluronic acid products
Healing speed and the size of the change differ from person to person, and whether you're suitable is decided at the in-person consultation.
If a lump, heat, spreading redness or pain shows up after you're back in Toronto, see a doctor there rather than waiting it out. Bring the record of what was injected, how much and when. The CDC's medical tourism advice is to carry copies of your records home and to arrange follow-up care before you travel.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you've reacted to any injectable before, send a WhatsApp message saying what the reaction was and roughly when it happened. Ask whether it changes your plan.

Who shouldn't spend their leave on Juvelook?
Run through this self-check before you build your Korea Juvelook recovery fund of leave days:
- Is my main concern texture, crepiness or shallow scarring, rather than heavy sagging or a hollow I want filled?
- Can I skip saunas, heavy workouts and drinking for the first day or two?
- Do I have two or three clear days before anything I'd hate to be bruised for?
- Am I clear of active breakouts, recent lasers or peels, and isotretinoin?
- Am I neither pregnant nor breastfeeding?
- Will I wait several weeks before judging the result?
If you answered no to the first question, this probably isn't the treatment for you. A no on any of the others usually means waiting.
You may not need to come at all if your skin is reacting to a new skincare product. Let that settle first. The same goes if a series you finished is still holding: an empty week in Seoul isn't a reason to add another session.
For the consultation itself, we have English and Chinese interpreters on site for the 1:1 conversation, and the clinic connects directly to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. On WhatsApp, a good first question is which day of your trip to book so the most days are left for healing before your flight.
Frequently asked questions
Can I exercise in the days after Juvelook?
Light walking is generally fine. Skip heavy workouts, hot yoga and saunas for a day or two, since heat and extra blood flow tend to increase swelling and bruising.
Should I massage the area after Juvelook?
Massage advice differs between products and doctors, so follow what you're told at your visit. Don't press hard on the bumps in the first days to make them go faster.
Can I combine Juvelook with a laser on the same trip?
Often, yes. My menu pairs Juvelook with Potenza or Fraxel for pores. How much your skin can handle in one visit is part of the consultation.
Will people notice I had something done?
In the first day or two, up close, people may see small bumps or pinkness. After that, any change comes slowly over weeks.
Is Juvelook the same as Rejuran?
No. Juvelook is a poly-lactic acid collagen stimulator with hyaluronic acid. Rejuran is built on polynucleotide (PN) derived from salmon DNA.
