Korea Mole Removal Before and After: The Healing Nobody Photographs

I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim and I run Delphic Clinic in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam. Mole removal is one of the simplest things we do and also the one people ask me about most anxiously — usually some version of "how long until it looks normal?"

The before-and-after photos you find online do not answer that, because they show day zero and month six with nothing in between. So this article is the in-between: what the healing actually looks like week by week, and what decides whether you end up with a clean result or a mark that lingers.

The timeline nobody photographs

The stage people find hardest is weeks three to eight, because the wound has closed but the mark is still obviously there. That is normal and it is not the final result.

What actually decides the final look

   Whether it was assessed before removal

   Any mole with irregular colour, an uneven border, or recent change needs a doctor's assessment before anything is done. Removing first and asking later is the wrong order.

   Depth of removal

   Taking too little risks recurrence, taking too much deepens the mark. This is judgement, and it is why I do not delegate it.

   Whether you picked the scab

   This is the single most common reason a mark ends up worse than it needed to be.

   Sun exposure during healing

   A healing spot darkens readily under ultraviolet light, and that darkening can take many months to settle.

Sun protection matters more here than almost anywhere else in aesthetic medicine, and it is the same principle behind why pigment problems are treated cautiously.

Planning it around a trip

• Allow at least two weeks before any event where you want it covered.
• Do not plan removal immediately before a beach holiday — sun is the main risk to the result.
• Makeup goes on only after the surface has fully closed.
• Flying is fine; the dry cabin air simply means keeping the area moisturised as directed.
• If you want several moles removed, ask whether doing them in one visit is sensible for your skin.

Cost is usually per mole and varies with size, so a quote for "mole removal" without knowing how many and how large is not a real quote.

Local and international patients pay the same price. Interpreters in English and Chinese are on site, which matters because the aftercare instructions here are short but they are the whole game.
