I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Sinnonhyeon Station. I trained through Korea University Medical Center and I'm a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine, the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair and the Korean Filler Society. My work is lifting, laser and anti-aging, and a growing share of the faces I treat in Seoul belong to men.
Men rarely say "glass skin" out loud in my consultation room, but many of them have searched "korean glass skin men" before they arrive. They usually mention it a little sheepishly, after describing shine by lunchtime, bumps along the jaw from shaving and pores they can see in the mirror. This page answers what Korean glass skin for men really involves, what I book first, and how to schedule it around a trip or a working month.
Why men's skin looks matte or greasy rather than glassy
Glass skin is about light bouncing evenly off a smooth surface. In many men three things break that surface: a heavier film of oil, enlarged or congested pores, and the small bumps and redness that daily shaving leaves behind. None of these are fixed by moisturising harder.
Male skin also tends to be thicker, which is mostly good news. It often tolerates a deep-cleansing peel without much drama, and it hides fine lines well. The trade-off is that dullness from congestion sits more stubbornly, so the first step is clearing, not glossing.
If you want the general version of how I build glass skin for anyone, I explained the full combination in my Korean glass skin treatment plan. This article stays on the parts that are different for men.
A 60-second razor, oil and pore check for men
Stand at a window in daylight, with no product on, about two hours after washing. Answer these honestly; they decide where I would start.
- Is your T-zone visibly shiny within two hours of washing? (oil first)
- Can you see blackheads or grey dots across the nose and cheeks? (pores first)
- Do you get red bumps or stinging on the neck or jaw after shaving? (calming first)
- Is the skin tight and flaky in places despite being oily elsewhere? (barrier first)
- Do you have painful, inflamed spots right now? (acne treatment before any glass skin plan)
Most men tick the first two. A smaller group ticks the third, and they need a gentler order. If you ticked the last one, glass skin is not the right first goal, and I will say that in the room.
What I book first for a man's face
I lean on the Aqua Peel for men more often than for women, simply because congestion is the commonest complaint. It is a gentle AHA/BHA peel with no real downtime, so it fits a lunch break or the day after you land.
| 1st Aqua Peel 1 session (Extraction not included/Solution 1-2) (First-visit trial) | ₩39,000$30 |
| Aqua Peel 1 session (LED treatment included/Solution 1-3) | ₩80,000$60 |
When the jaw and neck are inflamed from shaving, I would rather not put an exfoliating solution on that skin. LDM uses high-density ultrasound with no peel, and a six-minute hydration or redness mode is often enough on a first visit.
| LDM 6min (Choose 1 mode: Hydration/Acne/Redness) (First-visit trial) | ₩39,000$30 |
| LDM 6min (Choose 1 mode: Hydration/Acne/Redness) (Event price) | ₩50,000$40 |
| LDM 10min (Lifting Mode) (Event price) | ₩100,000$70 |
| LDM 12min (Tightening Mode) (Event price) | ₩100,000$70 |
| LDM 10 minutes (Event price) | ₩100,000$70 |
| LDM 12 minutes (Event price) | ₩100,000$70 |
Shaving around your appointment
- 1
The evening before
Shave with a clean blade and a plain foam. This gives small nicks a night to close before any peel solution touches them.
- 2
The morning of the visit
Skip the razor and skip aftershave with alcohol or strong fragrance. Arrive with a bare face if you can.
- 3
The day of treatment
Leave the face alone. If you must shave the next morning, use a fresh blade and a light, fragrance-free moisturiser afterwards.
- 4
The following days
Sunscreen every morning. Men skip it more than anyone, and it is the cheapest way to keep the result even.

With men I rarely start by adding glow. I start by taking away what is blocking it: the oil, the congestion and the razor rash.— Dr. Hyunji Kim, Delphic Clinic
A glass skin schedule for a five-day trip or a working month
One visit gives a cleaner, fresher surface for several days; it does not give lasting glass skin. Cost-wise, I set out how the bill builds visit by visit in my glass skin treatment cost breakdown, which applies to men in the same way.
| Seasonal Glow [1] LHALALA Peel + LDM (Hydration) 6min + Modeling Mask | ₩129,000$90 |
| Seasonal Glow [2] MulTox + LDM (Hydration) 6min + Modeling Mask | ₩179,000$130 |
When I tell a man glass skin is the wrong goal
- Active, painful acne: it needs treatment first, and a glow facial on top of it wastes money.
- Deep acne scarring: texture is the problem, and that is a different conversation about resurfacing.
- Severe shaving folliculitis that keeps coming back: the shaving habit or hair growth itself may need addressing first.
- Anyone who will not wear sunscreen: the surface will not stay even, and I would rather be honest about that.
If acne is the main issue, my notes on acne laser treatment in Seoul are a more useful starting point than anything about glass skin.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you are a man thinking about Korean glass skin, start with a free one-to-one consultation. I will look at your oil, pores and shaving areas, tell you what I would book first and what I would skip, and treatment can usually be done the same day. English and Chinese interpreters are on site, you pay the same price as a Korean patient, and we are one minute from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.

Frequently asked questions
Can men get Korean glass skin?
Yes, in the sense of a clearer, smoother and more evenly reflective surface. Men's skin usually needs more attention to oil, congested pores and razor irritation first, so the plan starts with cleansing and calming rather than shine.
Should I shave before a facial at a Korean clinic?
I usually suggest shaving the evening before rather than the morning of the visit. Fresh razor nicks can sting under peel solutions, and a few hours lets the skin settle.
Which treatment do you usually start men on?
For most oily, congested male skin I start with an Aqua Peel, sometimes followed by LDM in hydration or acne mode. Which one is right is decided after I look at your skin.
How much does a men's glass skin visit cost at Delphic?
On our current menu, a first-visit Aqua Peel trial is 39,000 KRW and a first-visit LDM 6-minute trial is 39,000 KRW. The Seasonal Glow packages are 129,000 and 179,000 KRW. Prices are the same for Korean and international patients.
Is glass skin realistic if I have active acne?
Not as a first goal. Inflamed acne needs to be calmed and treated first, and chasing shine on top of it usually disappoints. I will tell you honestly at the consultation which order makes sense.
