Mole Removal Korea Cost: How to Tally Your Own Bill Before You Fly, With a Ruler and a Mirror

Most of my work is lifting, laser and anti-ageing care, and small laser treatments like mole removal are among the most common add-ons for patients visiting Seoul.

Patients ask me about mole removal Korea cost more often than about any other small treatment, usually in a message that says "I have a few moles, how much?" I can't answer "a few" honestly. What I can do is show you how our pricing works, so you can measure and count at home and arrive with a number that is close to the one you will pay.

The 2mm line that sets most of the price

Which moles are worth removing on a trip is a separate question, and I answer it in my guide to mole removal in Korea. On cost, one detail matters more than anything else: whether each spot is 2mm or smaller, or larger than that.

Small, flat moles of 2mm or less sit on the lowest line of our menu. Anything larger starts on the next line and can vary with size, because a larger or deeper spot takes more careful work. These are the published prices, and international patients pay the same as Korean patients.

Tally your own bill: a ruler, a mirror and a phone camera

This is the exercise I wish every patient did before messaging a clinic. It takes ten minutes and makes the estimate far more accurate.

   Find good light

   Stand by a window in daylight. Bathroom lighting hides small spots and exaggerates colour.

   Measure each spot

   Hold a ruler with millimetre marks beside the mole and take a photo with the ruler in frame.

   Sort into two columns

   2mm or less in one column, larger in the other. If you are unsure, put it in the larger column.

   Mark face or body

   Note where each spot is. Body moles have their own line on the menu.

   Flag the odd ones

   Star any spot that is raised, has changed recently, bleeds or itches. I look at those first.

Multiply each column by its line on the price table and you have a working estimate. Send me the photos with the ruler visible, and I can usually tell you before you fly whether the estimate is realistic.

Face, body and the bumps that aren't moles

A surprising number of the "moles" patients count are something else: skin tags, milia, flat seborrhoeic spots or small warts. These have their own per-spot line on our menu, and some are treated differently from a pigmented mole. I explain one of the most common mix-ups in my guide to telling milia from closed comedones.

Why the quote can change once I look at you

A photo shows width, not depth. Some moles that look flat have a deeper root, and some clusters that look like one spot are two or three. That is why our price for spots over 2mm reads "varies by size": I would rather adjust an estimate honestly than squeeze a larger mole into a small-mole price and leave pigment behind.

Before anything is treated, I tell you the final count and total. You can remove all of them, or choose the ones that matter most to you and leave the rest for another visit.

Moles I won't put a price on

• A mole that has recently grown, changed shape or colour, bled or started itching. It needs proper assessment, not laser removal.
• A mole with an irregular border or several colours in it. I will advise you to have it examined, not removed on the spot.
• Large, raised moles where laser would leave a poorer result than another approach. I will tell you that honestly.
• Spots on skin that is sunburnt or freshly tanned from your trip. We wait until the skin settles.

Spending the saving wisely: timing it in your trip

Mole removal itself is quick, around ten to twenty minutes, but the spots need three to seven days to recover. Book it early in your trip, not the day before a beach holiday or a wedding photo. If you have many spots, I sometimes suggest treating the ones you care about most on this visit and the rest next time. It spreads the healing, and it keeps the cost in step with what actually bothers you.
