I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director of Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3. I trained through Korea University Medical Center and I'm a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine and the Korean Filler Society. The eye area is where lifting, filler and skin-booster work meet, so I spend a lot of consultation time on it, including on Rejuran I.
Several times a week someone points under their eye and asks, "Will Rejuran I fix this?" Usually it is a person in their thirties or forties whose concealer has started settling into fine lines. Sometimes Rejuran I is the right answer, and sometimes the problem is something it cannot touch. This post is about telling those apart before you book.
Why the eye area gets its own version
The skin beneath the eyes is among the thinnest on the face, it moves every time you blink or smile, and it bruises easily. A product and technique that work well on the cheeks are not automatically right there. Rejuran I was made for that area, using the same polynucleotide (PN) idea as other Rejuran products, derived from salmon DNA, in a form suited to delicate skin.
I will not repeat the general Rejuran background here; you can find it in my Rejuran first-timer's guide. This post stays under the eyes.
Crepey, hollow, dark or puffy? A four-type eye check
Look in a mirror with the light in front of you, then tilt your chin down slightly. Try each test below. Most people have one dominant type, and some have two.
Crepey skin is where Rejuran I fits most naturally. With hollows I may discuss volume options separately, and with pigment or puffiness the conversation usually goes somewhere else entirely. If what you see is a cluster of tiny white bumps rather than lines, that may be milia, which I covered in how to get rid of milia under the eyes safely.
What changes, and what stays the same
When Rejuran I suits the skin, the change patients describe is gradual: the under-eye skin looks less papery, fine lines are a little softer, and makeup settles less into creases. It builds over weeks and usually over a short series, often spaced around two to three weeks apart. It is not a same-week transformation.
What stays the same is the structure. A deep tear trough, fat bags or a genetic darker tone will still be there. I would rather say that now than have you judge the treatment against something it was never designed to do.
Under the eyes, I diagnose the shadow before I treat it. Half the disappointment I see comes from treating the wrong cause.— Dr. Hyunji Kim, Delphic Clinic
When I tell someone not to book Rejuran I
- Puffy bags or fat bulges are the main concern: Rejuran I will not reduce them.
- A deep hollow is the main concern: thin-skin support alone will not fill it.
- Active irritation, infection or a skin condition around the eyes: we wait until it settles.
- An important event within the next few days: bumps and possible bruising need time to fade.
- An expectation that one session will look like a filler result: it works differently and more slowly.
The days after an eye session
- 1
Same day
Small raised bumps along the treated line are normal. A cool compress can help with comfort.
- 2
Days one to three
Bumps usually settle within one to three days. The eye area can bruise more easily, and a bruise may take longer to fade.
- 3
Following weeks
Judge the skin gradually. If we planned a series, the next session is usually two to three weeks later.

If the bumps or any discomfort are what you are nervous about, I wrote about the three complaints I hear most after Rejuran and how to plan your social days around them.

It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.

Frequently asked questions
What is Rejuran I?
Rejuran I is the version of Rejuran designed for the thin skin around the eyes. Like other Rejuran products, it uses polynucleotide (PN) derived from salmon DNA to support the skin's own repair, applied in small amounts suited to the delicate under-eye area.
Does Rejuran I get rid of dark circles?
It depends on what causes them. Rejuran I is aimed at thin, crepey under-eye skin. Dark circles from shadowing of a hollow, from puffiness or from pigment usually need a different approach, so I check the cause before recommending it.
Is Rejuran I the same as Rejuran Eye?
On our menu, the eye-area version appears as Rejuran I 1cc in the regular list and as Rejuran Eye 1cc in the event and first-visit trial list. We also offer a painless Rejuran Eye 3cc option. I confirm which one fits at consultation.
How much is Rejuran I at Delphic?
Rejuran I 1cc is 250,000 KRW at the regular price. Rejuran Eye 1cc is listed at 119,000 KRW as an event price and 99,000 KRW as a first-visit trial price while those offers run, and painless Rejuran Eye 3cc is 350,000 KRW. Prices are the same for every nationality.
What happens after a Rejuran I session?
Small bumps are common for one to three days, and the thin eye skin can bruise more easily than the cheeks. I suggest avoiding important photos or events for a few days and judging the change gradually over the following weeks.
