Are the Korea Thermage FLX procedure steps and instructions you've found leaving you unsure how many days to book in Seoul? Read this before you lock in your return flight. You'll know what happens at each step, how recovery goes day by day, what decides the cost and which review claims hold up, so you can pick a trip length that fits your skin and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. My background is Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine.
At Delphic, a doctor performs the treatment, using the genuine Thermage FLX device and tips. Interpreters are on site for questions in English or Chinese, and we're at Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.
I wrote this because most step lists stop at the last pulse. The planning mistake comes afterward: people book around the treatment hour and forget to check which days the clinic is open once it's done.
Thermage FLX is one outpatient visit with no incision, and our menu lists recovery as same-day return. Flying the next day is usually possible, but I'd leave one open day before departure, on a day the clinic is open.
If the return flight is the part nagging at you, send one barefaced photo and your flight dates on WhatsApp, and ask which treatment day fits that return.

The visit, step by step
How long you'll spend is advised at consultation, because it changes with the area and the number of shots. The sequence below is how a Thermage FLX session generally runs, and the details can differ from one setting to another.
Risks and side effects to know
- Consultation and skin check. You describe what bothers you, and the doctor looks at how loose the skin is, how much volume sits under it, and what you've had done before.
- Cleansing and marking. Makeup comes off, and a temporary grid is commonly placed on the skin so the pulses land evenly.
- Numbing, if used. Topical numbing cream is common with this kind of treatment. Ask at booking whether it's planned for your session, since it can add waiting time.
- Treatment passes. The tip touches the skin with a coupling fluid and delivers short pulses of heat, with cooling around each one. Our menu lists 600 shots for the face, and 225 or 450 shots for the eye area.
- Clean-up and a last look. The fluid and grid come off, and redness is usually visible at this point.
If this is your first radiofrequency treatment, my first-timer guide to Thermage in Korea covers what the device is for. For this trip, one fact matters more than the device: there are two timelines running after your session.

The first timeline is short. Heat makes collagen fibers thicken and shorten, so some tightening can happen right away. The second is long. A 2026 review in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine describes healing and new collagen continuing for 2 to 6 months after monopolar radiofrequency. That's why how RF tightens skin without surgery has a direct effect on your booking: extra nights in Seoul don't get you more of the result. Most of it arrives after you're home.
What instructions should you follow ?
Follow whatever you're given on the day. These are the general medical points I'd want you to have in mind while you plan.
Before you travel:
- Write down any pacemaker or implanted electronic device, plus pregnancy or breastfeeding. Radiofrequency may be off the table.
- List filler, threads, lasers and peels from the past year, with rough dates.
- Mention isotretinoin and any medicines you take regularly.
- Reschedule if the area has an active infection, an open wound or a flare-up.
After your session:
- Use a mild cleanser, a moisturizer and sunscreen for the first few days.
- Skip the sauna, hot baths and hard workouts while your skin still feels warm.
- Hold retinoids and acids if your skin stings when you apply them.
- Take a photo of anything that worries you, with the date, so you can show it to a doctor later.
How does recovery go day by day?
Most people look a little flushed on the day and close to normal soon after. This table shows the general pattern; your skin may run faster or slower.
The flight worry usually comes from surgery advice. The US CDC's medical tourism page warns about blood clots after surgery and suggests delaying air travel for 10 to 14 days after major operations. Thermage FLX has no incision, so that advice doesn't map onto it in the usual way. If you've had a clot before, or you take blood thinners, raise that with your own doctor before you book a long-haul flight.
How many days should you book in Seoul?
For most people, I'd sketch two nights: arrive, have the treatment, keep one open day, then fly. Same-day treatment is possible here and airport buses stop near Sinnonhyeon Station, so a long stay isn't what makes this work. Your calendar is what matters, and hours and directions are on Delphic Clinic's English homepage.
We're open Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 21:00, Saturday from 10:30 to 17:00, and closed on Sundays. That creates a trap. Have the treatment on Saturday and fly on Monday, and the day after your treatment is the one day you can't walk back in.
Say you land on Thursday evening and fly home Monday morning. I'd choose Friday for the treatment. You'd then have Saturday, with the clinic open until 17:00, as your window to show someone a spot that's bothering you, and Sunday for whatever you came to Seoul to do. If you can only come Saturday, plan a Monday or later departure and leave yourself a morning before the airport.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
For your own dates, add a side-view photo in daylight and a list of treatments from the past year, then ask on WhatsApp whether a Friday or a weekday slot works for that trip.

When I'd tell you to skip Thermage FLX
The common reactions are short-lived: redness, warmth, mild swelling and tenderness over hours to several days. Less often, people report numbness, small blisters or a temporary dent in the skin. The review above describes a low risk of serious adverse events, and it also notes that most studies of these devices are funded by manufacturers, so read those numbers with that in mind. Results vary from person to person.
Generally, you should wait or skip it if any of these applies:
- You have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- There's an infection, open wound or inflamed skin in the treatment area.
- You've recently taken isotretinoin, or had a laser or peel on that area. Ask how long to wait.
- Your sagging is heavy, or your face is already very lean. Heat can firm skin, but it can't reposition heavy tissue or add volume.
- You need a visible change by a date a few days away.
If a blister, spreading redness, increasing pain or a new dent appears after you've flown home, see a doctor there promptly and bring your photos. The CDC advises getting copies of your medical records before leaving, having them translated if needed, and making sure follow-up care is available at home. Do that before the trip, because care for a complication may not be covered by your insurance.
What decides the cost of Thermage FLX in Korea?
The figure for your case comes down to a handful of things:
- Area: full face, eye area or both.
- Shots: the eye area is listed at 225 or 450 shots, the face at 600.
- Add-ons: some one-day lifting packages pair Thermage FLX with other devices, LDM and a modeling pack.
- Your stay: hotel nights count toward your total, which is another reason not to book extra days for recovery.
International patients pay the same price as Korean patients here, with no foreigner surcharge. My Thermage cost guide goes further into value, and I'll tell you when I wouldn't buy it. For your own figure, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo and the area you want treated.
What reviews get right and wrong
Three claims come up again and again in public threads. Here's how they sit with the medicine.
- "No downtime." Mostly accurate for daily life, since the skin surface isn't broken. Early redness and tenderness still happen.
- "It did nothing." This one needs a date attached. A verdict written in the first few weeks comes before the 2-to-6-month window, though some people do see little change, especially with heavy laxity.
- "It melted my face." The studies don't give a clean answer on volume loss, and I won't dismiss the worry. It's a reason to look closely at a lean face first.
FDA clearance comes up too. Thermage FLX received 510(k) clearance in 2017, which is a statement about the device's regulatory path and says nothing about how your own face will respond.
Questions to send before you book
Copy these into your message and delete what doesn't apply:
- Which area and how many shots would you discuss for my concern?
- Is numbing cream part of the session?
- Given my flight time, which treatment day leaves an open day afterward?
- Can I get a copy of my treatment record to take home?
- Would anything in my treatment history change the plan?
When you come to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station, with interpreters on site for English or Chinese, a doctor examines your skin and recommends what fits, whether that's Thermage FLX or something else.
Frequently asked questions
Does Thermage FLX hurt?
Most people feel brief pulses of deep heat, and sensitivity tends to be higher over bony areas. It's uncomfortable rather than harmless to ignore, so tell the doctor during the session if a pulse feels too strong. Ask at booking whether numbing cream is planned.
Can I wear makeup the next day?
Generally yes, if your skin isn't broken or stinging. Use clean products and stop if your skin feels irritated. Follow any different instruction you receive on the day.
When will I see the full effect?
Some tightening can be seen right away, while new collagen continues to form over 2 to 6 months according to the published review. How much you notice differs from person to person.
Can I combine Thermage FLX with other treatments on the same day?
Our one-day lifting packages include combinations of lifting devices with LDM and a modeling pack. Whether a combination suits you is a medical question, and your recent treatments and skin condition matter.
Do foreigners pay more at Delphic Clinic?
No. Korean and international patients pay the same price, with no foreigner surcharge on any package.
What if I can't speak Korean?
Interpreters are on site, so you can ask about treatments and prices in English or Chinese.
