Watched every Korea Thermage FLX procedure steps video you could find, and still can't tell if it would do anything for your face or justify the trip money? Read this before you book. You'll know the steps, what decides the cost, what reviews get right, what recovery looks like and who should skip it, so you can judge the fit for your skin and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam.
At Delphic, doctors perform the treatments themselves, Thermage FLX is one of our FDA-cleared lifting devices, and Korean and international patients pay the same price. Interpreters are on site for English and Chinese.
I wrote this because a video makes the session look like the decision. The bigger choice is whether your skin should have it at all.
Here is the short answer. A session means cleansing, a temporary grid on the skin, then radiofrequency passes with cooling and no incision, and the clinic's menu lists same-day return. It suits mild to moderate looseness, and the change builds slowly. Heavy sagging is outside what it can do.
If a video left you with one nagging doubt, send it on WhatsApp with one barefaced front photo, and ask: "Is my kind of looseness something Thermage FLX can change?"

What a Thermage FLX session shows on camera, step by step
Almost any Korea Thermage FLX procedure steps video follows the sequence below. It's how the device is generally used, and your own session's details are confirmed at consultation. This page has no video, because the useful part is in the right-hand column.
The heat is the point of the treatment. A review in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine describes monopolar radiofrequency heating the dermis, which starts collagen contraction and remodeling. If you want the fuller background, my first-timer guide to Thermage FLX in Korea goes through it, and how radiofrequency tightens skin without surgery covers the mechanism in more depth.
The FDA cleared the Thermage FLX system through its 510(k) pathway in 2017. That tells you about the device. It tells you nothing about how your own skin will respond.
What can't a video tell you about your own face?
Three things, and they decide the outcome more than the technique on screen. How loose is your skin? Where is the looseness coming from? And how much change would make the money feel well spent?
The person on camera is usually chosen to demonstrate the device, and you can't see their starting point. Looseness from skin quality can respond. A jawline that has dropped because the cheek has lost support, or skin that hangs in folds, is a different problem. Radiofrequency can't reposition tissue like that.
Say you're 31, teaching English in Busan, on a tight budget, and your skin still springs back when you pinch it. Your complaint is really pores and uneven tone. I wouldn't spend your money on Thermage FLX. Potenza for pores or PicoSure toning for tone would be the conversation, and each has its own trade-offs: pinpoint redness for some days after microneedling, and occasional temporary pigment change after laser.
Now say you're 46 with early softening along the jaw and thin, slightly crepey cheeks. That is closer to the skin I'd consider. I would still want you to expect a subtle change over months, because you may not see much on your flight home.
Who should skip Thermage FLX or wait?
In short, this is the part videos rarely cover, and it's the section I'd read twice. You probably don't need this treatment if your skin is still firm, if your main concern is pigment or acne scars, or if you want a visible lift by next week. You're also a poor match if you have heavy sagging. A surgical consultation would be a more useful conversation, and we don't offer surgery here.
Risks and side effects to know
Common temporary reactions are redness, mild swelling, tenderness and tingling, usually lasting from hours to a few days. Less common are blisters, small burns, bumps or temporary numbness. Rarely, people report a dent or volume loss in a treated area, and a lean face deserves that conversation at consultation.
As general medicine, you should wait or skip it in these situations:
- A pacemaker or other implanted electronic device (monopolar radiofrequency passes current through the body)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Infection, inflammation or an open wound in the treatment area
- A recent laser or peel, or current or recent isotretinoin
- Metal implants in the area, or a history of keloid scarring (raise these with the doctor)
If something appears after you fly home, photograph it the same day. Blistering, worsening pain, signs of infection or numbness that isn't fading all need a local dermatologist quickly, and you can show them your treatment record. The US CDC's medical tourism advice is to carry copies of your records and arrange follow-up care before you travel, and that applies here too.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If anything on that list sounds like you, write it in your WhatsApp message with the date of your last laser or peel and a side photo of your jaw, then ask whether it changes what you should do.

What does recovery look like on a short Seoul trip?
The menu lists same-day return, and there's no incision to look after. Many people go back to their day with some redness. Plan for the chance of tenderness or light swelling for a few days, so leave the tightest photo day and any heavy sun exposure until later in the trip.
Collagen remodeling is slow, so judge the result over months. A week is too soon, which matters if you have a short trip and high hopes. Ask about your flight timing at consultation, and leave at least a little room in the schedule in case of a reaction. We're open Monday to Friday 10:30 to 21:00 and Saturday 10:30 to 17:00, and closed on Sundays, so a Sunday landing means Monday at the earliest.
What do reviews get right about Thermage FLX?
Three claims turn up often in reviews and forum threads. These are general claims, and I'm answering them as medicine.
"It did nothing." Partly true. Response differs between people, and a verdict written after a week comes too early to judge anything. Someone with deep folds may also have had the wrong treatment for the problem.
"It really hurts." Often true for some areas. Heat over bone is what people tend to describe, and it passes as each pulse ends. Ask what comfort options are used.
"It melted my face." Volume loss has been reported and shouldn't be waved away, but it isn't the usual course. An older retrospective analysis of over 600 monopolar radiofrequency treatments in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology looked at efficacy and safety, though it predates the FLX generation. Take any promise of how many years a result will last with the same caution, because I can't give you that number either.
What decides the cost for your face?
Four things move your figure:
- Area and shot count: the menu has face at 600 shots, and eye at 225 or 450 shots
- Adding another treatment, since our one-day packages combine lifting, toning and skin boosters
- VAT, which menu prices exclude, so check it's counted in the figure you're comparing against your budget
- Your days in Seoul, including a spare day if you want one
There's no foreigner surcharge. For more on what changes the Thermage FLX price, the cost guide goes further. To get the figure for your case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost, and include a photo of the area you want treated.
Five questions to take to any consultation
Copy these into your phone. They're the gap between watching a video and making a decision.
- Is my looseness the kind radiofrequency can change, or is it a support problem?
- Which area and shot count are you suggesting, and why that amount?
- Will a doctor perform the treatment, and is the tip genuine and new?
- What should I do if a reaction shows up after I'm home?
- If you were spending my money, is there something you'd do first, or nothing at all?
The last question is the one I'd most like you to ask. If you're still weighing it up, how I weigh Thermage FLX for skin tightening gives you more to compare, and Delphic Clinic's English home page lists our other lifting devices.
Ask: "What would you do for my skin, and what would you leave alone?" We're directly connected to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station, with interpreters on site for English and Chinese. When you come in, the doctor examines your skin and recommends the option that fits it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Thermage FLX hurt during the passes?
Most people describe brief pulses of deep heat between cooling phases, often stronger over bone. How much you notice varies, so ask what numbing or comfort options are used.
How many shots do I need?
The menu lists 600 shots for the face and 225 or 450 for the eye area. A higher count covers more or treats more densely, but it doesn't promise a stronger result on your skin.
Can I get the treatment on the same day as my consultation?
Same-day treatment is possible at Delphic. It still makes sense to arrive with your medical history and any recent treatments written down, because those can change the plan.
How long does a Thermage FLX result last?
No one can give you a reliable number for your own face. Collagen change builds over months, then skin keeps aging, so treat any fixed number of years as marketing.
Can it be combined with other treatments in one day?
Our one-day packages combine lifting, toning and skin boosters. Whether a combination suits you is a question for the doctor, especially if you have reactive skin or had a recent laser or peel.
