Worried that the Seoul dermal filler cost you budgeted for will double the moment someone looks at your face? Read this before you book the appointment or the flight. You'll know what moves the number, what reviews get right and wrong, which filler methods suit which area, and how recovery fits a short trip, so you can tell what fits your face and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. I come from Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Filler Society.
At Delphic, foreign visitors pay the same price as Korean patients, a doctor does the injecting, and interpreters for English and Chinese are on site. Same-day treatment is possible, which matters when you only have a few nights in Seoul.
I hear the cost question from visitors often, and the mistake behind it is pricing filler by the syringe before anyone has worked out what the face needs.
Seoul dermal filler cost is set mainly by three things: which product family suits the area, how many cc that area takes, and whether a staged second visit fits your trip. Sometimes the right amount is less than you planned, or none at all.
If you already have a number in mind, send one front photo and one side photo taken in daylight on WhatsApp, name the area you most want to change, and ask what it would cost for your case. Photos let you ask about your own face instead of a menu average.

What moves the number on a filler quote?
A filler quote is several decisions stacked together. Each one shifts the bill in its own way.
Two things stay fixed. The treatment menu on Delphic Clinic's English site lists prices in won before VAT, and foreigners pay the same as Korean patients. Everything else moves with your face.
Numbing is worth asking about too. Many hyaluronic acid gels now contain lidocaine, and a randomized trial published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2016 tested one such gel for nasolabial folds. Ask whether numbing cream is part of the line you're quoted.
If lips are the only area on your list, I've written separately about what a Seoul lip filler price actually covers, since lips follow their own logic of amount and swelling.
When I tell people not to buy more filler
The syringe that saves you the most is the one you skip. Three situations come up again and again in filler consultations.
Cheek filler can soften jowls when the real cause is lost support in the midface. It cannot lift heavy sagging. If your lower face hangs because the skin and deeper tissue have loosened, more volume only makes the face heavier, and I'd point you toward a lifting device instead. I've laid out how I choose between Ulthera and Thermage for exactly that situation.
Under the eyes, thin, crepey or dark skin often does better with a booster than with filler. Filler placed under very thin skin can show through as a ridge or a bluish tint. That's why I wrote about when I choose filler under the eyes and when I choose a booster.
Fine, crepey lines spread across the cheeks are usually a skin-quality problem rather than a volume problem. Filling them tends to look puffy before it looks smoother.
A five-night example
Say you're 26, teaching English somewhere in Asia, with five nights in Seoul and a budget for roughly one area. You'd like a stronger chin and fuller cheeks. On a side photo, a short chin changes the whole profile, so I'd spend the budget there first. If the cheeks look flat mainly because the skin is thin and dry, a booster on a later trip may suit them better than filler now. You leave with one area done properly instead of two done thinly, and you still have days in Seoul for swelling to settle before you fly.
Which filler methods suit which area?
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons groups dermal fillers by material: hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid and others. Each behaves differently, and that's where much of the cost difference starts.
Hyaluronic acid gels give volume you can see the same day. They suit lips, chin and many cheek concerns, and they're the family that can generally be dissolved with an enzyme if something needs correcting. That matters when the doctor who treated you is a flight away.
Collagen stimulators work differently. Juvelook, a PDLLA-based product, and Radiesse, a calcium-based filler, are both on our menu. They build up gradually rather than filling on the spot, and many people need more than one session, so the number of visits becomes part of the cost.
If you're comparing brands, I wrote about what actually differs between Korean and imported fillers and how I pick one for a given face. The area and your skin choose the product before the brand does.
When you don't need to fly to Seoul for filler
If you have an injector at home you trust and you only want a small touch-up of a product you've had before, a trip adds little. The same goes if a reaction from earlier filler is still being looked after by your own doctor; that care is better finished where it started.
And if you have two nights in Seoul before a wedding or a photo shoot, filler is the wrong thing to squeeze in. Bruising doesn't follow your calendar.
What do filler reviews from Seoul get right?
Reviews and forum threads about filler in Korea repeat a handful of claims. Some hold up and some don't.
“One syringe did my whole face.” Spread across a whole face, one syringe is usually too thin to show much in any single area. It's more often enough for one area, such as lips.
“Korean fillers are weaker.” Korean fillers are regulated products in Korea, as imported ones are. What matters more is that the product is genuine and suited to the area, and asking to see the sealed package before injection is reasonable anywhere.
“Swelling is gone by the next day.” Partly true. Many people look presentable within a day or two, but lips swell more, and a bruise can take a week or longer to fade.
“Mine lasted two years.” The American Academy of Dermatology describes filler results as lasting from months to years, varying with the type of filler. Area, amount and how much that part of the face moves all play a part, so someone else's timeline tells you little about yours.
Recovery on a short trip
Same-day treatment is possible here, and on weekdays we're open until 21:00, so an evening appointment after a day out works. Saturday hours end at 17:00 and we're closed on Sundays, so don't plan your treatment for a Sunday.

For most people, swelling is most noticeable in the first day or two and settles over the following days; a bruise, if one appears, can take longer. Book treatment early in your trip rather than the night before your flight, so you're still in Seoul for those first days. In the first 24 hours, many doctors advise skipping hard exercise, alcohol, and pressing or massaging the treated area.
In general, flying after filler isn't considered a problem for the result itself. The practical reason to leave a gap is that any early problem then shows up while you're still near the clinic.
Risks and side effects to know
Common and temporary: swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness and small firm spots at the injection points. These usually settle within days to about two weeks.
Less common: lumps that last longer, infection, or an allergic reaction. Rare but serious: the US Food and Drug Administration warns that filler accidentally injected into a blood vessel can block blood flow, which can damage the skin and, in rare cases, affect vision or cause a stroke. Pain out of proportion, skin turning pale or dusky, or any change in vision needs immediate care.
Who should wait, as a general rule: anyone pregnant or breastfeeding; anyone with an active infection, cold sore or breakout at the site; anyone allergic to an ingredient such as lidocaine. If you take blood thinners, bruising is more likely, so talk to your prescribing doctor about timing and never stop a medicine on your own.
If something appears after you fly home: the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's medical-tourism guidance suggests planning follow-up care before you travel and bringing copies of your records home. Keep the product name and amount from your visit and show them to a local doctor. Any of the urgent signs above means going to an emergency department right away. Results vary from person to person.

I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If your dates are already fixed, send your arrival and departure days on WhatsApp together with the area you most want to change, and ask which day of the trip leaves the most room for recovery.

Questions to bring to any filler quote
Whether you ask us or another clinic, these questions turn a single number into something you can compare:
- Which product, by name, and is it hyaluronic acid or a collagen stimulator?
- How many cc for each area, and why that amount?
- Is numbing part of the quoted line?
- Is VAT included in the figure?
- If a touch-up makes sense, does it need a second visit before I fly?
- Who does the injecting?
- What product name and amount will go in my records for a doctor at home?
Send a front and side photo on WhatsApp with the one question from this list that matters most to you. When you come in, I'll examine your face and recommend the product and amount that suit it, including whether a booster or a lift would serve you better.
Frequently asked questions
Do foreigners pay more for filler at Delphic Clinic?
No. Foreign visitors pay the same price as Korean patients. Menu prices are listed in won before VAT.
Can I have filler on the day I arrive in Seoul?
Same-day treatment is possible. We're open Monday to Friday 10:30–21:00 and Saturday 10:30–17:00, and closed on Sundays, so plan around those hours.
How soon can I fly after filler?
Flying isn't generally considered a problem for the result itself. Leaving a day or two before your flight means any early swelling or problem shows up while you're still in Seoul.
Can filler be undone if I don't like it?
Hyaluronic acid filler can generally be dissolved with an enzyme. Collagen stimulators and calcium-based fillers can't be dissolved the same way, which is one reason the product choice matters on a short trip.
Does filler hurt?
Most people describe pressure and brief stinging. Many hyaluronic acid gels contain lidocaine, and numbing cream can be used; ask whether it is part of the quoted line.
Should I mention filler I've had before?
Yes. Tell us the product, the area and roughly when it was done, since earlier filler affects which product and how much makes sense now.
