Will your Juvelook under eye recovery be finished by the time you fly home, or will you board the plane with a bruise and a row of small bumps under both eyes?
The small injection bumps usually flatten within one to three days. A bruise, if you get one, is the slow part: on under-eye skin it can take a week or more to fade, so put about seven clear days between the session and your flight or any event where you'll be photographed.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. My background is Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Filler Society and the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine.
For a short trip, three facts here change the math. The injections are done by a doctor, and treatment can happen on the same day as your consultation, so you don't spend a recovery day waiting for a second appointment. Weekday hours run until 21:00, which means the session can go on your first evening in Seoul. And a medical interpreter is with you at no extra charge, so the bruising question gets answered in words you're sure of.
If you already have dates, send a close photo of your under-eyes in daylight with no makeup, plus your arrival and departure dates, on WhatsApp. Ask the one thing that matters for your trip: how many clear days you'd have before the flight. The 1:1 consultation is free, and a single photo is enough to start.

What will you see under your eyes on each day?
Raised bumps on the first evening, flatter skin by day two or three, and, if a bruise appears, a color change that runs for a week or so. The result you're paying for shows up much later. This is the usual sequence when Juvelook goes under the eyes:
Risks and side effects to know
Why does under-eye skin take longer than the cheeks? It's thinner, there is very little fat beneath it, and the small blood vessels sit close to the surface. The same tiny injection that disappears on a cheek in a day can stay visible here for two or three, and a small bleed that would stay hidden on a cheek shows through as a bruise.
One thing catches people out. The first days can look smoother than your skin will look on day six, because the liquid that carries the PDLLA particles adds temporary fullness before it absorbs. Then it flattens, and the collagen your skin builds in response arrives slowly afterward. That dip is normal, and it's the main reason so many Juvelook verdicts are written too early.

Bruising is the part that sets your flight date
The bumps are predictable. Bruising isn't, and under the eyes it's the variable that decides whether you look fine on day four or are still covering up on day nine.
A few things raise the odds, and most of them are in your control in the week before you fly out:
- Aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and ginkgo supplements thin the blood a little. If you take them by choice, ask your own doctor whether you can pause them for about a week beforehand.
- If a doctor prescribed a blood thinner for you, don't stop it. Tell us instead, because it changes whether the under-eye area is a sensible place to treat on a trip.
- Alcohol the night before and the night after makes bruising and puffiness more likely. A welcome dinner with soju is better saved for a few days later.
- A long-haul flight that lands the same morning leaves you dehydrated and puffy already. If you can, sleep one night in Seoul before the session.
After the session, a cool (not icy) compress for short stretches on the first day and an extra pillow on the first night help the puffiness settle. Skip saunas, jjimjilbang, hot yoga and hard workouts for a couple of days, since heat and raised blood pressure both make a bruise spread.
How many days should you leave before the flight?
Seven clear days is the number I'd plan around for the under-eyes. Five can work if you don't bruise easily and don't mind concealer on the plane. Fewer than three means you may fly with visible bumps.
Much of a smooth Juvelook under eye recovery is decided by where the session sits on your calendar. Say you land on a Thursday night and fly home nine days later, on a Saturday. Putting Juvelook on Friday evening, your first full day, gives you eight days of runway, which covers even a slow bruise. Putting it on the last Wednesday because the first days are full of sightseeing leaves you two days, and that is the version of the trip people regret.
A quick self-check before you pick a slot:
- Count the days between the session and your flight home. Is it seven or more?
- Is there a wedding, a work presentation or a photo shoot inside those days?
- Do you bruise easily from small knocks, or have you bruised after injections before?
- Are you taking any of the supplements or medicines listed above?
- Are you comfortable wearing sunglasses for two or three days of the trip?
If two or more answers worry you, move the session earlier in the trip or treat a different area this time.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If your dates are tight, send them on WhatsApp together with the names of anything you take daily, supplements included, and ask which day of your stay leaves the longest runway. That list is the detail people forget, and it's the one that can change the answer.

Which lumps are normal, and which need a doctor?
Even small bumps in the first three days, mild swelling that differs a little between sides, and tenderness when you press are expected. A lump that's still there after two weeks, gets bigger, or turns red and warm is not, and it needs a doctor's eyes in person.
The common, temporary reactions match what the FDA lists for dermal fillers: bruising, redness, swelling, pain or tenderness, and itching around the injection points. Under the eyes they usually settle within the first week to ten days.
Less common is a small firm bump you can feel weeks or months later. A report in the Annals of Dermatology describes late-onset foreign-body reactions after poly-L-lactic acid face injections, appearing long after treatment. Juvelook uses a related material, PDLLA, and the under-eye area, with its thin cover, is where any small lump is easiest to see and feel. That's why, in my view, this area calls for smaller amounts than the cheeks.
Rare but serious problems from any injection near the eye include infection and, very rarely, product affecting a blood vessel. Sudden severe pain, skin that turns pale or dusky, or any change in your vision is an emergency: go to an emergency department straight away, wherever you are.
It's generally wiser to wait if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have an infection, cold sore or eczema flare around the eyes, had a laser or peel on that area in the last couple of weeks, took isotretinoin in recent months, or have had lumps after earlier injections. How quickly your skin settles is individual, which is why the table above gives ranges rather than dates.
Once you're home, photograph anything that worries you in the same daylight as your first photo, note the treatment date, and send both on WhatsApp. For anything hot, painful or spreading, see a dermatologist or GP in person that same day, and take the product name with you so they know exactly what was injected.
Who shouldn't use Juvelook under the eyes
Not every dark or tired under-eye is a thin-skin problem, and a collagen stimulator only helps thin skin.
- Puffy bags that bulge more when you look up are fat pushing forward. No injection flattens that, and adding material beneath can make the bulge look heavier.
- Brown or purple-brown darkness that stays the same when you gently stretch the skin is usually pigment. That's a laser or skincare question.
- A deep groove running from the inner corner toward the cheek is a hollow, and whether it needs filler or a booster is its own decision. I've set out when I choose under-eye filler, when a booster, and whose eyes I leave alone.
- Thin, crepey skin that wrinkles finely when you smile, sometimes with a bluish tone showing through, is where a booster like Juvelook can help. Thin, crepey or dark skin often does better with a booster than with filler.
And if your under-eyes only look tired after a bad week of sleep and recover after a weekend of rest, you don't need an injection for that at all.
Is one session worth it if you can't come back to Seoul?
One session starts the process; it rarely finishes it. Collagen stimulators are usually given as a short series a few weeks apart, and our own multi-session skin packages that include Juvelook Skin are set four weeks apart.
So a visitor really has three choices: one session now as a start, knowing the change will be modest; two sessions if your stay or a return trip spans about four weeks; or a different treatment this trip if you want something visible before flying home. How the PDLLA effect builds across sessions is laid out in Juvelook results and timeline over the months, and the wider picture of the product, including where else on the face it's used, is in my Juvelook guide for first-timers. The full treatment menu and opening hours are on Delphic Clinic's English site.
To start, send one daylight photo of your under-eyes without makeup and your travel dates on WhatsApp, and ask whether seven clear days fit your plan or whether this trip should go to a different area. The 1:1 consultation is free, foreign patients pay the same price as locals, a medical interpreter is there at no extra charge, and the clinic is directly connected to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. In person, the first thing I'd want to see is whether the darkness under your eyes changes when the skin is gently stretched, because that separates shadow from pigment and decides whether Juvelook belongs there at all.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear makeup the day after under-eye Juvelook?
Usually yes, once the needle points have closed, which for most people is by the next morning. Use clean products and pat rather than rub. A peach-toned corrector hides a fading bruise better than a thick layer of concealer.
Does flying make the swelling worse?
Cabin pressure doesn't move or harm what was injected. Long flights do leave many people puffier from dry air, salty food and sitting still, so drink water, go easy on alcohol and expect to look a little puffier on landing for a day.
Does it sting more under the eyes than on the cheeks?
Yes, the under-eye area is more sensitive and numbing cream is commonly applied first. Expect a series of quick stings during the injections, and tenderness to the touch for a day or two afterward.
Can I add a heat-based lifting treatment on the same trip?
Yes, but keep heat off freshly injected under-eye skin for the first several days, because it adds swelling on top of swelling. If you want both, the heat-based treatment usually goes earlier in the trip.
I bruised on day two. Did something go wrong?
Usually not. A bruise means a tiny vessel was nicked, which no technique fully avoids under thin skin. It only matters if it comes with severe pain, pale or dusky skin, or any change in your vision.
