Juvelook vs Potenza: if your cheeks have thinned and turned a little crepey while your pores widened, do you really have to pick one? If you're in Seoul for a family visit with dinners already on the calendar, the section on redness matters as much as the comparison. What each one changes in the skin, who suits which, whether to pair them and what moves the cost are all answered on this page.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director · Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul. Korea University Medical Center is where my medical background lies, and I'm a member of the Korean Filler Society and the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair.
Juvelook (listed on my menu as Juvelook · Ultracol) and Potenza are both treatments I offer, and the menu has a package that puts the two in one visit. A doctor performs the treatment, locals and foreign patients pay the same price, and a medical interpreter for your language comes at no extra charge.
The usual mix-up is treating these as two versions of the same thing. One is an injectable that prompts collagen in the dermis, the other a needle-and-heat device that resurfaces it, so for many faces the real question is order and pairing.
For thin, crepey skin that has lost its bounce, Juvelook is the closer fit. For enlarged pores and shallow acne scars, Potenza is, and when both show, the two are often planned together.
Take one photo of your cheek in window light, angled so pores and any scars throw a small shadow, and send it on WhatsApp with your Seoul dates. Ask: on my skin, which would you start with? The 1:1 consultation is free, and one photo is enough to begin.

What each one changes in your skin
Juvelook adds material the body responds to. Potenza injures the skin in a controlled way so it repairs itself. Both end in new collagen, by different routes.
Juvelook is a collagen stimulator made of PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) particles with hyaluronic acid. Injected into the dermis, the particles prompt the skin to build collagen around them over the following weeks and months. It gives little volume on the day; the change shows as skin that looks thicker and reflects light more evenly. I explain how I place it in my first-timer guide to Juvelook.
Potenza is RF microneedling: fine needles enter the skin and release radiofrequency heat at a set depth. My menu lists two tips, a pore tip (N25) and a pumping tip (CP25); the pumping tip is designed to push a solution into the channels while it needles. The heat and the punctures together help tighten pores and soften scar edges as the skin heals.
Think of the cheek as a mattress with a cover.
Whose skin suits Juvelook better?
Juvelook suits skin that has thinned: fine creasing on the cheeks when you smile, a papery feel, or texture that looks tired without deep scars.
It's often a fit in the forties and fifties or after weight loss, when the dermis gets thinner and pores look wider because the skin around them has lost support. It's a weaker choice if you want visible volume this week, have deep folds, or mostly mind sagging along the jaw.
Because the collagen builds slowly, first impressions mislead. That's why so many Juvelook verdicts are written too early, and why PDLLA results are better judged over months than over days.
Whose skin suits Potenza better?
Potenza suits enlarged pores, rough texture and shallow to moderate acne scars, especially rolling or boxcar scars on the cheeks.
The American Academy of Dermatology includes microneedling among the treatments for depressed acne scars, often over more than one session. Deep, narrow ice-pick scars respond less; scar subcision, which is on my menu, or another method may need to come first.
Potenza needs more caution in medium to dark skin, because heat and injury can leave darker patches as the skin heals. DermNet describes this postinflammatory hyperpigmentation as more common and longer lasting in darker skin types. Sun protection afterward matters for everyone.
A mirror check before you choose
Five things to look at tonight, in front of a window:
- Turn your cheek toward the glass. Dents and widened pores that throw shadows point toward Potenza.
- Smile, then relax. Fine creases that linger across the cheek point toward Juvelook.
- Pinch the cheek gently between thumb and finger. Skin that feels thin and slow to flatten is a thickness problem.
- Look at your jawline in profile. If sagging is what bothers you, neither of these is the main tool.
- Check for pimples, redness or a recent peel. Any of those means waiting, whichever one you choose.
Juvelook vs Potenza, or both on one visit?
For thin skin and widened pores together, pairing is common, and my menu builds it in. The Potenza + Pores package is a full-face Potenza session with the pore tip, Juvelook Skin 2cc and a soothing mask in one visit.
There's also a four-session pore and scar package at four-week intervals.
Say you're 52, flying in from Los Angeles for eight days with family, your cheek pores have widened over the last decade, the skin feels thinner, and two shallow scars sit near your jaw. I'd usually plan one combined session early in the trip instead of two separate ones, so the redness settles before the weekend dinners. That session is a first step; both treatments build over a series, and the next one can wait for your next visit to Seoul.
How red will you be at a family dinner?
Potenza usually leaves the face pink to red for one to a few days, with fine grid marks that fade. Juvelook leaves small injection bumps and some swelling for several days, and a bruise can appear where a needle passed a small vessel.
Combined in one sitting, expect the redness of Potenza plus the bumps of Juvelook; many people cover them with makeup after a day or two once the skin has closed. Skip saunas and hard workouts for the first couple of days.
Same-day treatment is possible, and with weekday hours until 21:00 an evening slot can follow a day out with family. Saturdays run 10:30 to 17:00, we're closed on Sundays, and the clinic connects directly to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.
What can go wrong with each?
Risks and side effects to know
Juvelook's common reactions are bumps, swelling, tenderness and bruising, which usually settle within days.
Potenza's common reactions are redness, swelling and pinpoint marks for a few days. Less often there are breakouts, infection, prolonged redness, darker patches and, if the energy is too high for the skin, small burns or grid marks that linger.
As general medicine, wait or skip either one if you have an active infection or inflamed acne in the area, took isotretinoin in the past several months, had a laser or peel very recently, are pregnant or breastfeeding, form keloids, or have an autoimmune condition flaring. Skip Juvelook if you've reacted to a lactic-acid injectable before. How quickly you heal and how much collagen you build varies from person to person.
If a firm lump appears weeks later, or redness and warmth grow instead of fading once you're home, see a dermatologist there promptly and take dated photos.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you've had filler, threads or a laser on your cheeks in the past six months, write down what it was and when, and send that note on WhatsApp. Ask whether it changes which treatment should go first.

When I'd steer you away from both
- Your main concern is sagging along the jaw. Lifting devices or threads address that; these two mostly change the skin itself.
- Pigment, melasma or redness is what you see in the mirror. Toning or vascular lasers are where I'd start.
- You're breaking out right now. Calm the acne first.
- Your skin is reactive and irritated this month. Let it settle before any needles.
- You expect deep scars to vanish after one session. They improve over a course, and some need subcision first.
Which choices change the price?
For Juvelook, the amount (my menu lists it in cc), the areas covered and the number of sessions decide most of it. For Potenza, it's full face or a smaller area, the tip (switching from the pore tip to the pumping tip is its own line on the menu), what goes into the channels (packages pair Potenza with PDRN, exosome or Juvelook), and how many sessions you plan. I go through what changes a Juvelook quote in more detail.
There's no foreigner surcharge on any of this, and the treatment list sits on our English homepage. Send your cheek photo on WhatsApp and ask what it would cost for your case; deposit and payment are worked out after the consultation, so ask about those in the same message. The exact figure for your skin is set in the 1:1 consultation.
Sending your first photo
Send one cheek photo in window light on WhatsApp, add the days you're in Seoul, and ask the question that fits your face: with skin like mine, is this a Juvelook problem, a Potenza problem, or both? The 1:1 consultation is free, a medical interpreter for your language is there at no extra charge, and Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station leads straight to us. In the room, I'll want to see your cheeks under side light and feel between two fingers how thin the skin has become.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Potenza tip opened fresh for me?
In the pore and scar packages on my menu, the Potenza pore tip is described as unboxed in front of you. If you're booking a different Potenza option, ask about the tip in your first WhatsApp message.
How soon would I notice a change from Juvelook?
The first days mostly show injection bumps, not results. Collagen builds over weeks, so many people only judge the change somewhere around the one- to three-month mark.
How many Potenza sessions do scars usually take?
Usually several. The pore and scar package on my menu is built as four sessions four weeks apart, which reflects how long remodeling takes between rounds; deeper scars can need more.
Can I fly the day after?
For most people, yes, after either one. Cabin air is dry, so keep the skin moisturized, wear sunscreen at the window seat, and leave makeup off for the flight if you can.
Does either one hurt?
Potenza feels like hot prickling across the cheeks, and Juvelook injections sting briefly at each point; both leave the skin tender for the evening.

Korea Juvelook Recovery Plan: How Many Days Before You Fly? Cost, Reviews and Methods
Bumps and redness from Juvelook usually settle within days and collagen builds over months, so leave two or three days before a long-haul flight and line up a doctor at home before you leave.

Clogged Pores Respond to a Korean Pore Minimizer, Sagging Pores Rarely Do
No Korean pore minimizer changes pore size. Salicylic acid and retinol keep oily, clogged pores clear, and primers blur them for hours; pores stretched by sagging or edged by acne scars usually need in-clinic collagen work.
