Most of what gets sold as korea body filler, meaning gel injected into the breasts, buttocks or hips, is a use the U.S. FDA recommends against. At Delphic, Korean and international patients pay the same price, and English and Chinese interpreters are on site for 1:1 consultations. The worry worth planning around is what happens if a lump, an infection or a blocked vessel shows up after you've flown home. I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director · Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, trained at Korea University Medical Center and a member of the Korean Filler Society.
Body filler is a question I hear in the consultation room, often from someone told at home that their goal needs surgery, hoping Korea has a needle-based shortcut. Below are the korea body filler risks I explain, who it doesn't suit, and what our body menu offers instead.
- Injectable filler for breast or buttock enlargement sits outside what dermal fillers were approved for, according to the FDA.
- Facial filler uses small volumes in defined areas; a body volume change is a different scale of risk.
- The serious complications (blocked vessels, infection, lumps) can surface days or weeks later, possibly after your flight.
- If a goal needs real volume, a plastic surgeon's consultation is the honest next step.
- Delphic's body menu lists ONDA, InMode and lipolytic injections, with no breast or buttock filler, and the same price for every patient.
I'll tell you whether your goal is a filler question at all, a body-device question, or one for a surgeon, and how many days to plan in Seoul.

What "body filler" usually means in searches
In most searches, body filler means injecting gel to add volume to the breasts, buttocks, hips or calves. Facial filler works in 1cc syringes placed in small, mapped areas, and that's what our filler menu is built around.
On Delphic's menu, Rejuviel 1cc is listed for the front and side cheeks, nasolabial folds, cheekbone, chin, marionette lines and lips, and Belotero 1cc for wrinkles and the under-eye. The Body & Contour category lists Body ONDA Lifting, Body InMode and Body Lipolytic Injection. There is no breast or buttock filler on it. If you want to see how facial areas and amounts are planned, I wrote about which areas and how much is enough.
Searches for brand-name body fillers, "Korean boob filler" or "Korean breast filler" all point at the same idea: volume without surgery. The rest of this page is about why that idea carries more risk than a lip or cheek syringe.
Why does a large-volume injection behave differently?
Volume changes the physics. A few cc in the face sits in a small pocket near bone; a body change needs far more product spread through soft, mobile tissue that you sit on, lie on and move all day.
Three things follow from that. More product means more surface for infection to settle on and more chance of lumps that you can feel. Soft tissue under pressure lets gel drift away from where it was placed. And in the breast, injected material can sit among glandular tissue, which can make later breast imaging harder to read.
The regulators are direct about this. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends against using dermal fillers or any injectable filler for body contouring and enhancement, naming breast and buttock enlargement among the unapproved uses. The same page states that injectable silicone is not approved for any aesthetic procedure and warns it can lead to long-term pain, infections and serious injuries. It also advises against buying filler online because the product could be counterfeit.
The complications worth knowing before you fly
The most concerning filler complication is injection into a blood vessel. The FDA lists blocked blood supply, tissue death, vision problems including blindness, and stroke among the outcomes. These are rare, and they're the reason filler is a medical procedure.
The everyday side effects are milder. The American Academy of Dermatology describes bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection site as common, usually settling within days. Later problems such as firm nodules or infection can appear weeks afterwards, which matters when you're no longer in Seoul.
Whether any injection suits you is decided at the in-person exam, after I've looked at the area and asked about your history.
What happens if a problem shows up after you're home?
You'll be dealing with it through a local doctor, so the records you carry home matter as much as the injection itself. The CDC's medical tourism guidance advises arranging follow-up care at home before you travel and bringing copies of your medical records.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
For filler, that means the product name, the amount, the date and the exact areas treated. Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with an enzyme, and Delphic lists a filler dissolving injection on its menu for that reason. Collagen stimulators and non-hyaluronic products can't simply be dissolved, which is one more reason to know exactly what went in. I covered how collagen stimulators differ from HA filler in a separate post.

Who body filler doesn't suit
Some situations make any large-volume injection a poor idea. Body filler doesn't suit you if:
- you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy soon
- you have an active skin infection or an open wound near the area
- you're due for regular breast screening and want clear imaging
- you've had earlier injections and don't know what product was used
- your goal is a clear cup-size or shape change, which is a surgical question
- you have a flight within a day or two and no follow-up plan at home
There are also times you don't need to come at all. If you're happy with your shape and only read about body filler online, nothing needs fixing. If a surgeon at home already advised implants or fat grafting for a volume goal, a filler needle won't do the same job. In both cases, staying home is the right call.
What the body menu offers instead
None of these add volume. Delphic's body treatments work on firmness and contour, so they suit a different goal than a body filler does.
Body ONDA Lifting uses microwave technology to generate deep heat in tissue, and the clinic lists it for lifting and fat reduction, with same-day return. Body InMode and Body Lipolytic Injection sit in the same Body & Contour category. If your concern is looseness or a stubborn area, one of these may be worth discussing; if you want more volume, they're not a substitute.
A quick self-check helps sort it out. Ask yourself whether you want more of something (volume) or less (laxity, a bulge). "More" points toward a surgeon. "Less" is where a device or injection conversation can start.

Questions to ask before anyone injects your body
Any clinic, including ours, should be able to answer these plainly before a needle comes out:
- What exactly is the product, and what is it approved for?
- How much will be injected, and into which layer?
- Can it be dissolved if something goes wrong?
- Will a doctor do the injection, and who sees me if a complication appears?
- What written record of the product, lot and amount do I take home?
- What signs mean I should go to an emergency department?
If an answer is vague, that tells you something. For a longer list on judging injectors, see what to look for before you trust an injector.
At Delphic, doctors perform treatments themselves, and same-day treatment is possible when it's appropriate. The clinic is directly connected to Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3 and open until 21:00 on weekdays.
When you're ready to ask, send a photo of the area you're thinking about and your dates in Seoul on WhatsApp. If you've had injections before, add the product name. I'll tell you whether your goal fits filler, a body device, or a surgeon's consultation, and how many days to set aside. English and Chinese interpreters are on site for the 1:1 consultation, and the price is the same for Korean and international patients.
Frequently asked questions
Is Korean breast filler the same as getting implants?
No. Implants are placed surgically in a defined pocket, while breast filler is gel injected into tissue. The U.S. FDA recommends against using injectable filler for breast enlargement. If you want a size change, a plastic surgeon's consultation is the place to start.
Can I fly home the day after facial filler in Seoul?
Still, leaving a buffer before the flight lets a doctor look at anything unusual. Carry the product name, amount and date with you.
Can body filler be removed if I don't like it?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with an enzyme injection, and Delphic lists a filler dissolving injection. Other materials, such as collagen stimulators, can't simply be dissolved. That's why knowing the exact product matters before anything is injected.
Does Body ONDA add volume like a filler?
No. Body ONDA uses microwave heat and is listed for lifting and fat reduction. It suits laxity or a stubborn area. It doesn't make an area larger.
I had body filler elsewhere and feel a lump. What should I do?
See a doctor promptly, and the same day if the area is hot, red or very painful. Bring anything you know about the product, the date and the amount.

Does a Korean Filler Stick Work Like Filler? No, and Here's Where the Needle Carries Risk
A korean filler stick is a cosmetic balm: it can soften dry fine lines while it's on your skin, but it can't add volume. Injected hyaluronic acid filler can, and it brings uncommon but serious risks such as vascular occlusion.
