Korea Thermage FLX reviews split between delighted and 'ruined my face', so how can you tell which of them applies to your skin?
Give this a few minutes before you pay a deposit anywhere.
You'll know what decides the cost, which methods can differ behind one device name, what recovery looks like and what to ask a Korean clinic, so you can choose using checks you ran yourself.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, with a background at Korea University Medical Center and membership in the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine.
Thermage FLX is one of several FDA-cleared lifting devices we have, along with Ulthera, Onda and Titanium, so it isn't my only answer to sagging. Doctors perform treatments themselves, and interpreters for English and Chinese are on site.
I wrote this because people often pick a clinic from its reviews, and a review can't show the shot count, the skin underneath or how the face looked six months later.
Use reviews to build a shortlist, then check four things directly: who treats you, which device and tip are used, how your skin is assessed, and who helps after you're home. Some faces shouldn't have Thermage at all.
If a doctor at home told you RF won't do much for you, send a bare-faced front photo on WhatsApp with what you were told, and ask the question it left you with.

What Korea Thermage FLX reviews can and can't tell you
They're good for practical details, like whether a clinic explained things and how the visit felt. They're weak on outcomes, because they rarely say how much sagging the writer started with or how long ago the treatment was. My piece on reading reviews by counting the shots covers the numbers, so here I'll stick to the medical claims.
Reviews can lean positive on side effects in other treatments too, as I wrote about with fat dissolving injection side effects. A short review written in the first week tells you about the first week.
Who treats you, and how can you check?
Ask for the doctor's full name and whether that doctor will perform the whole session. At Delphic, doctors perform treatments directly, and I'd want you to get a clear answer to this question anywhere you go.
Treat credentials as a starting point. A hospital background and society memberships tell you where someone came from, while the answer to 'what would make you tell me no?' tells you more about how they decide.
You can check the device too. The FDA's 510(k) database lists Thermage FLX under K170758, and its maker announced the clearance in 2017. Clearance concerns the device. It doesn't speak to the person holding it or to the outcome on your face.
Methods: what can differ behind the same Thermage FLX name?
The device name stays the same while the plan changes. Monopolar RF works by heating the deeper skin layers, and the difference between two sessions usually lies in how that heat is delivered and where.
These are the variables worth asking about:
- Area and shots. Our menu lists a 600-shot Thermage FLX session, and 225 or 450 shots for the eye area.
- Tip. The tip is a consumable with a set shot count. Our treatment page lists a genuine device and tips, and you can ask to see the tip you're getting.
- Energy and comfort. Settings often have to balance heat against what you can tolerate, so ask how that is decided.
- Combinations. We have a one-day package that pairs Ultherapy Prime and Thermage FLX with LDM. More devices in one day won't suit everyone, and focused ultrasound carries its own risks, such as temporary tenderness and rare nerve irritation.
For the basics of a session, start with my Thermage FLX first-timer guide. If you're curious how local patients fit it into their lives, see how Korean patients use Thermage FLX.
What should the skin assessment cover?
A careful doctor looks at where the laxity sits, how thick the skin is, how much fat lies under it and what you've had done before. Check that these come up. If the talk starts and ends with shot count, ask about them yourself.
Say you're 46, your face is on the thin side, and one RF session at home did little. I'd want to know how long ago that was and what you expected it to change. If your cheeks have little volume, I'd be wary of heating them further and would talk about the lower face and eye area separately. If the issue is mostly volume loss, more RF is the wrong trade.

What does recovery look like before your flight home?
Our treatment page lists same-day return. For many people, redness fades within hours and tenderness can last a few days, so most can go about their plans soon after.
The outcome is slower. Collagen change takes months, which means you'll fly home long before you can judge it. Airport buses stop near Sinnonhyeon Station, and we're at Exit 3. Since we're closed on Sundays, I'd pick a weekday session over a Saturday one if you want the next day open for questions.
When I'd say no to Thermage FLX
I'd decline or redirect you in these situations:
- Heavy sagging or jowls that need more lift than RF can give. A surgeon's opinion may serve you better.
- A very thin face, where the concern is volume more than laxity.
- A pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
- Pregnancy, or an active infection or open skin in the area.
- An event in the next few weeks that you're counting on it for, since collagen change takes months.
Risks and side effects to know
Common reactions are redness, swelling and tenderness, usually lasting hours to a few days. Less often, people report tingling or temporary numbness. Rare problems include burns or blisters, and contour changes get reported too. An older retrospective analysis of over 600 monopolar RF facial treatments, published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in 2006, found mostly transient side effects, though it studied an earlier generation of the technology.
As a general rule, tell the doctor about implants, recent fillers or lasers, skin conditions, pregnancy and any scarring problems. These can change whether and how treatment goes ahead.
If a blister, growing pain or numbness appears after you fly home, photograph it that day, contact the clinic and see a local dermatologist. The CDC's medical tourism advice is to arrange follow-up care ahead of time and carry your records, so ask for the device, area and shot count in writing to take with you.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
When you write to us, add a side photo in daylight and the dates of any earlier lifting treatment, along with anything you've read that worries you.

What decides the cost of Thermage FLX in Seoul?
The area and shot count come first, then whether it stands alone or sits in a one-day package with other treatments. Your days in Seoul and any second treatment you add also change the total. Our menu prices exclude VAT, and Korean and international patients pay the same price.
Ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo and the area that bothers you. You can also find our other treatments on Delphic Clinic's English homepage.
Seven questions to send a clinic before you pay a deposit
Copy these and send them to every clinic on your shortlist:
- Which doctor will perform my session, start to finish?
- Which tip will you use, and how many shots are planned for which area?
- Can I see the tip before the session starts?
- How do you decide the energy level, and what do you do for comfort?
- What about my face would make you advise against this?
- Who do I contact if I have a problem after flying home?
- Does your figure include VAT and everything in the plan?
One bare-faced photo on WhatsApp is enough to begin, with this question: is my sagging the kind RF can change? When you come, the doctor examines your skin and recommends the treatment that fits it.
Frequently asked questions
How long until I can judge my Thermage FLX outcome?
Collagen change builds over months, so a judgment in the first couple of weeks is early. Take a dated photo before treatment, in the same light you'll use later.
Does FDA clearance mean Thermage FLX will work for me?
No. Clearance is about the device and its cleared uses. Whether it suits you comes down to your skin, the amount of laxity and how the session is planned.
Can I fly home the day after Thermage FLX?
Our treatment page lists same-day return, and many people have only mild redness or tenderness. Leaving a spare day gives you room to ask questions, particularly because we're closed on Sundays.
Can Thermage FLX be combined with other lifting devices in one day?
We have one-day packages that do this, including one that pairs Ultherapy Prime with Thermage FLX. Whether a combination makes sense for you is a separate question, especially if your face is thin.
Can I ask questions in English at the clinic?
Yes. Interpreters are on site, and you can ask about treatments and prices in English or Chinese.
