I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director and lead physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul. My background is Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine and the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology & Hair. The thing that most often spoils a Korean facial planned from Singapore isn't the facial. It's a sunburn from day two of sightseeing, or a strong treatment booked a few hours before the flight home.
If you want a calm, hydrating Korean-style facial, Singapore already has many places that offer one, and you don't need a plane ticket for it. A visit to a clinic in Seoul earns its place when you want a doctor to look at your skin before anything is chosen, and when you might step up to a medical device such as Potenza for pores or scarring.
What to take from this page
- A "Korean facial" describes a style of care, not a place. The useful question is who assesses your skin and what can be added if it needs more.
- On a short trip, choose the treatment whose recovery ends before your flight, not the strongest one on the menu.
- A tan, an active breakout with pus, or recent isotretinoin means waiting, wherever you are.
- At Delphic, international patients pay the same price as Korean patients, consultations run with English interpretation, and medical procedures are performed by a doctor.

Is a Korean facial in Seoul different from one in Singapore?
The products and steps can look alike. What changes in a Seoul clinic is the order: a doctor looks at your skin first, then picks the treatment, and the options extend to medical devices that a facial room doesn't use.
For simple hydration, that difference is small. For enlarged pores, old acne marks or redness that never settles, it is large, because those are medical questions, and the answer may be "a facial won't change this much".
Singapore has its own rules here. Doctors who offer aesthetic procedures there follow the Singapore Medical Council's Guidelines on Aesthetic Practices for Doctors (2016 Edition), and the Ministry of Health has set out how aesthetic procedures are regulated. If you already see a doctor at home for your skin, keep that relationship. A trip abroad shouldn't replace it.
Distance from the clinic that treated you is a real cost. It pushes the choice toward gentler treatments on a short trip.
Most short-trip problems come from the calendar, not the skin
A facial rarely goes wrong on its own. It goes wrong when it lands on the wrong day of the trip, and six things decide that.
- Sun before the visit. A walking day at a palace or on a mountain trail can leave a light tan. The American Academy of Dermatology says a dermatologist "will wait to treat you if you have a tan or have been in the sun recently" before microneedling.
- Isotretinoin. If you've taken it for acne, know the date of your last pill. For microneedling, the AAD's wording is that "at least one month must have passed since you took your last pill." Bring the date to the consultation.
- A Sunday plan. We're closed on Sundays. Weekdays run 10:30 to 21:00, and Saturdays 10:30 to 17:00, which helps if you fly in on a Friday night and out on Sunday.
- The last-afternoon slot. Booking Potenza a few hours before an evening flight leaves no room for the redness to settle.
- Makeup for photos. After microneedling, the AAD says "it's important to wait 24 hours before you apply makeup." Plan your dinner photos around that.
- Stacking. Two new treatments in one day abroad means that if your skin reacts, you won't know which one caused it.
If you're short on days, the earliest weekday or Saturday of your trip is usually the kindest slot for your skin.
Which facial fits a two- or three-day Seoul trip?
For most short trips, a gentle one-day set fits: a peel, LDM in hydrating and calming mode, and a modeling pack, all in a single visit.
The first step is what changes, and so does the price. The Aqua Peel set is the lowest-priced of the three and the Water Glow set the highest. Current figures are on the clinic's price list in KRW, VAT not included, and the final plan and amount are confirmed after the consultation.
This is usually what people mean by a "glass skin facial" in a Seoul clinic: cleansing and hydration, finished with a calming step. Aqua Peel is the one behind the search "aqua peel facial", a water-based cleansing of congested pores. I've written about how Aqua Peel deep-cleans pores separately.
Potenza is a different category. It's RF microneedling, priced per full-face session, and its price is confirmed after the consultation like the sets above. The AAD describes redness and a sunburn-like feeling after microneedling that "usually disappear in a few days to a week".
How I'd choose between the two: if what bothers you is dryness, dullness or a rough feel after a long flight, a peel set is the reasonable first step, and there's no reason to needle the skin. Potenza becomes worth discussing when the complaint is pores that stay open after cleansing, or acne scars you can feel as dips, because a peel doesn't reach that depth.
Even then, I'd hold it back if there's an active breakout with pus, a fresh tan line, or fewer than about four days left before the flight. Booked on day one of a five-day trip, it can work. On the last afternoon, it rarely makes sense.
Verified Google reviews
4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.

Who should wait, and what are the risks?
If you only want an hour of hydration and relaxation, a facial in Singapore will do that without a flight, and that's a fine choice.
For microneedling, the AAD lists people who should not have it: those who heal slowly, have keloids, have weakened immunity, or are being treated for cancer or receiving radiation in the area. A skin infection or deep, painful acne with pus is also a reason to wait.
At the consultation, I check three things before any device. Is there an active breakout I'd be needling through? Is there a fresh tan line at the jaw or the nose? Does the redness stay after cleansing, which points toward reactive skin? Any of those moves the plan toward a gentler set, or toward "not this trip".
The risks are mostly short-lived. Redness and a warm, tight feeling are common after peels and devices. For which reactions are expected after a hydrating facial, see what's normal after a Korean HydraFacial. The AAD notes that infection and scarring are seen mainly when microneedling is done by someone without the right training.

The clinic day, from Sinnonhyeon Exit 3 to your flight
The clinic is at 476 Gangnam-daero, Urban Hive Building 2F, directly connected to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station on Line 9 and the Sinbundang Line. It's easy to slot in between other plans in Gangnam. On Google, the clinic has a 4.7★ rating across 260 reviews, if you want to read what others wrote before you plan.
A realistic outline for a gentle set looks like this. Times vary with the day's schedule.
Same-day treatment is possible after the consultation, so a gentle set doesn't need a second visit. For the detailed sequence inside a session, see what happens step by step in a clinic facial.
A visitor from Singapore pays the same price
International patients pay exactly the same package price as Korean patients at Delphic. Prices are listed in KRW and exclude VAT, so check the current exchange rate rather than relying on an old conversion.
If you're timing your visit before a wedding or a photoshoot back home, the calendar is different again. I've covered that in timing a glass skin facial before an event or a flight home.
If you're planning a Seoul trip from Singapore, send your travel dates on WhatsApp, with the day you land and the time of your flight home, so the consultation can be booked early in the trip rather than squeezed into the last afternoon. The skin assessment itself happens in person, with English interpretation, and that is where the plan is decided. Treatment menus and opening hours are on the Delphic Clinic English site.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a Korean glass skin facial in Seoul on the day I land?
Often yes, if you land early enough on a weekday (10:30 to 21:00) or a Saturday (10:30 to 17:00). Same-day treatment is possible after the consultation. Gentle sets with a peel and LDM fit an arrival day better than microneedling.
How much is a Korean glass skin facial at a clinic in Seoul?
At Delphic it depends on which of three one-day sets you choose, each with a peel, LDM and a modeling pack: the Aqua Peel set is the lowest-priced, the LHALA Peel set sits in the middle and the Water Glow (PHA) Peel set is the highest. Prices are in KRW with VAT not included, international patients pay the same as Korean patients, and the final amount is confirmed after the consultation.
Is a Korean facial the same as Korean facial surgery?
No. A facial is a non-surgical skin treatment with no incisions. Facial surgery is a separate field, and it isn't what this article covers.
Do I need to stop my skincare before the visit?
Tell the doctor what you use, especially retinoids, exfoliating acids and any acne medicine such as isotretinoin. The doctor decides at the consultation whether anything should pause.
Can I fly back to Singapore the same evening?
After a gentle peel and LDM, many people travel the same day. After microneedling such as Potenza, redness can last a few days to a week, so it's better done early in the trip.

No Korean pore minimizer changes pore size. Salicylic acid and retinol keep oily, clogged pores clear, and primers blur them for hours; pores stretched by sagging or edged by acne scars usually need in-clinic collagen work.
