Wondering whether that Korean PDRN pink collagen jar does what the salmon injection on clinic menus does, and whether part of your Seoul budget should go to the injection instead? Read this before you fill a suitcase or book a slot. You'll come away knowing what the pink products can and can't do, what reviews get right, which injection methods exist, what decides the cost and how many days to set aside, so you can choose between a jar and a needle that fits your skin and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director and Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, and a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine. Whether a PDRN cream can stand in for a PDRN injection is a question people bring to me about skin boosters again and again.
Our menu includes the PDRN Salmon Injection, Rejuran, and Potenza combined with PDRN. The doctor performs the treatment, same-day treatment is possible, and Korean and international patients pay the same price, with English and Chinese interpreters on staff.
I wrote this because “PDRN” on a pink jar and “PDRN” on a clinic menu look identical, and people often buy one expecting the other.
A PDRN pink collagen product is a moisturizing skincare item that can leave skin softer and dewier for a while. The PDRN that dermatology research studies is placed into the skin by injection, because molecules that large get very little way through intact skin from a cream.
If you're torn, send a bare-face photo taken in daylight on WhatsApp, list the two or three products you use now, and ask whether your skin points toward an injection this trip or whether the jar is enough.

What is Korean PDRN pink collagen, exactly?
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide: fragments of DNA, usually taken from salmon or trout, purified for medical and cosmetic use. A close relative, PN (polynucleotide), uses longer chains of the same material. A 2025 review in Pharmaceutics describes PDRN as the shorter fragments and PN as the longer ones that form a gel-like scaffold in tissue.
The Korean PDRN pink collagen products trending online usually pair a PDRN ingredient with collagen in a pink, often jelly-like formula. The pink is a formulation and packaging choice. Collagen in a jar works as a moisturizer on the surface; it doesn't turn into your skin's own collagen.
If your real goal is building collagen, that's the job of collagen stimulators, which I compare with hyaluronic acid filler in what a collagen stimulator like PLLA can and can't do.
Why a cream and an injection can't do the same job
Skin is built to keep things out. A paper in Experimental Dermatology set out the “500 Dalton rule”: compounds much larger than about 500 daltons pass through healthy, intact skin poorly. PDRN fragments are far larger than that, and so is collagen.
An injection skips the barrier. In wound-healing research, PDRN placed into tissue is thought to work partly through adenosine A2A receptors, which are involved in repair and new blood vessel growth; a 2021 review in Pharmaceuticals summarizes that work. Studies of injected polynucleotides for skin rejuvenation report changes in hydration, texture and fine lines, though a systematic review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology notes that study designs differ and calls for more controlled trials.
So I treat a PDRN cream as a moisturizer. If it feels comfortable and your skin likes it, keep using it. I just don't expect it to do what the injection is studied for, and I don't want you paying for that expectation.
What do PDRN reviews get right, and what do they miss?
Product reviews and clinic reviews about PDRN tend to repeat four claims.
“My skin looked glassy the next morning.” Plausible, and it's mostly hydration. A humectant-rich formula plumps the top layer of skin for hours. That's real, and it fades when you stop.
“The salmon injection stings and leaves bumps.” Partly true. Injections into the skin sting, and small raised bumps where the product went in are common for a short time afterward.
“One session changed my skin.” Read that one with care. Studies of injected polynucleotides usually use a series of sessions spaced weeks apart, so a single session is a start rather than the whole course.
“Pink collagen is the same as PDRN at a clinic.” No, for the reasons in the section above. The ingredient name is shared; the route into the skin isn't.
If you're comparing PDRN options by name, I cover that in what I tell patients who ask which Korean PDRN to choose.
Salmon injection, Rejuran or Potenza with PDRN: which method fits?
Here's how I'd match them. Dry, tired skin with no scars: the PDRN Salmon Injection is the direct way to find out whether PDRN does anything for you. Thin, crepey skin often does better with a booster that adds structure, which is where Rejuran's longer PN chains come in. Pores or acne scars: the problem is texture, so Potenza with PDRN makes more sense than an injection alone.
If what bothers you is dullness from uneven pigment, neither a PDRN cream nor a PDRN injection is aimed at it. That is closer to toning, which I describe in how I use PicoSure toning for stubborn pigment.
How many days in Seoul does a PDRN injection need?
Not many, which is part of why it suits short trips. A PDRN injection doesn't call for a recovery week; the catch is that the effect builds over a series, so your planning is about sessions more than downtime.
Say you're in Seoul for five days on a modest budget, your skin is dry after a long winter, and you have no scars to treat. I'd put the injection on day 1 or 2, so the bumps have settled long before the flight. We're open until 21:00 on weekdays, so an evening slot after sightseeing works. On Saturday we close at 17:00 and on Sunday we're closed, which matters if you land on a Saturday afternoon. Hours and the location by Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station are on Delphic Clinic's English homepage.
If you'd rather finish everything in one visit, Delphic has one-day packages that combine lifting, toning and skin boosters in a single day. Adding Potenza belongs early in the trip too, because microneedling redness lasts longer than injection bumps.
Then decide how the series continues once you're home: a return trip in a few weeks, sessions with a dermatologist where you live, or one session as a trial. The CDC advises medical travelers to arrange follow-up care at home before leaving and to keep records, so ask for the product name and amount in writing.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you're weighing a session, tell us on WhatsApp how many days you'll have in Seoul and whether dryness, pores or scars bother you most, and ask which of the options above fits that many days.

When the jar is enough, and who should skip the injection
The jar is enough when your skin is healthy, you mostly want it to feel comfortable and look dewy, and you aren't chasing changes in texture or scars. Keep using what your skin likes, with sunscreen every day.
Skip or postpone the injection if:
- you're allergic to fish or salmon-derived ingredients, since PDRN and PN usually come from salmon DNA
- there's an infection, a cold sore or inflamed acne where it would go
- you're pregnant or breastfeeding
- you've had a laser or peel on the same area very recently, or (for Potenza combinations) you've taken isotretinoin in recent months
- you have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners; tell the doctor rather than stopping them yourself
Risks and side effects to know
Common and temporary: stinging during the injection, small bumps at the injection points, redness, mild swelling and occasional bruising, usually settling within a day to a few days. With microneedling combinations, redness and dryness can last a few days longer. Less common are infection and allergic reactions.
If you notice spreading redness, warmth, rising pain, pus, or a rash with facial swelling after you fly home, see a local doctor promptly and bring the product name and amount. Whether an injection suits your skin is decided when the doctor examines you.
What decides the cost of PDRN treatment
- Which option: the PDRN injection alone, Rejuran, or PDRN combined with Potenza or a fractional laser
- The amount injected
- How many sessions you plan, and over how many trips
- Whether you fold it into a one-day package with other treatments
Korean and international patients pay the same price. For how a skin booster bill builds across visits, see how a Korean glass skin treatment bill adds up. For your own figure, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your skin, naming the option you're curious about.
Before you shop or book, send one daylight photo of your bare skin on WhatsApp with your travel dates, and ask one question: for my skin and these days, jar or injection? When you come in, I'll examine your skin and recommend the option, if any, that fits your goal and your budget.
Frequently asked questions
Is the PDRN in skincare made from salmon?
Often it comes from salmon or trout DNA; the ingredient list or the brand's information usually says which. If you have a fish allergy, check with a doctor before using it and before any PDRN or PN injection.
Can I keep using my pink collagen product after a PDRN injection?
Usually yes once the injection points have closed, often by the next day. Hold off on acids, retinoids and scrubs for a few days, and follow what you're told on treatment day.
Is Rejuran the same as PDRN?
They are close relatives. Rejuran uses polynucleotide (PN) derived from salmon DNA, which has longer chains than PDRN and behaves more like a gel in the skin. Which one fits depends on whether your skin needs hydration or more structure.
Can I buy PDRN injections at a Korean pharmacy?
Korean pharmacies sell PDRN skincare such as creams, serums and masks. Injectable PDRN is a medical treatment given by a doctor, so don't buy injectable products to use on yourself.
How many PDRN injection sessions do people usually have?
Studies of injected polynucleotides generally use several sessions a few weeks apart. For a traveler, that means planning a return visit, continuing with a dermatologist at home, or treating one session as a trial.
