How long does forehead filler last, and will it still look settled when you fly home from Seoul? If you're planning a short trip around it, read this before you book the flights. You'll know how long forehead filler usually lasts, what decides the cost, what reviews get right and wrong, which methods suit a forehead, and how many nights the recovery asks for, so you can pick a trip length that fits your forehead and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director · Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, and a member of the Korean Filler Society. “How long will it last?” is a question I hear often in consultation, usually from people who have one trip's worth of leave and don't want to spend it on something that fades in a season.
At Delphic a doctor performs the injection, treatment on the same day as your consultation is possible, and foreigners pay the same price as Korean patients. English and Chinese interpreters are on site, and the clinic is directly connected to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.
I'm writing this because many people judge forehead filler in its first week, while swelling is still doing part of the work, and then plan their next trip around a result that was never the real one.
Hyaluronic acid filler in the forehead usually stays visible for many months, often close to a year, and fades gradually rather than all at once. The real shape is usually readable at about two weeks, so the days you stay in Seoul matter more than the flight.
If you're not sure your forehead is a filler case at all, send a front photo and a side photo in daylight on WhatsApp with your travel dates, and ask the one thing you most want answered: is this dip a volume problem or a movement problem? Two photos say more about a forehead than a paragraph of description, and having your dates in the same message keeps the conversation about your actual trip.

Why forehead filler fades the way it does
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your skin already makes. Filler versions are cross-linked so the body breaks them down slowly, and the US Food and Drug Administration describes most dermal fillers as temporary because the body absorbs them over time. What you see in the mirror is the gel plus the water it holds, so the change is a slow softening rather than a sudden drop.
The forehead adds two complications. It moves every time you raise your brows, and the tissue over the bone is thin, so the amount used is small and spread across a wide, curved surface. Small amounts in a moving area tend to soften sooner than a larger amount placed deep on bone in a quieter spot like the chin. If you want to compare areas across the face, I wrote about how long Juvederm lasts area by area.
Then there's the part that isn't filler at all. The first week's fullness is partly swelling. When it goes down around day four or five, many people assume the filler is already leaving, when what they're seeing is the gel settling into the tissue.
How long does forehead filler last for someone like you?
Say you're 41, the front of your forehead is flat with a shallow dip just above the brows, and you have six nights in Seoul. You'd like the profile to look rounder in photos, and the injector at home wasn't keen on treating the forehead.
Here's how I'd reason. A shallow dip usually needs a modest amount of hyaluronic acid placed on the bone, beneath the muscle, where it moves less. In a forehead like that I'd expect a visible effect for many months and a gradual drift back toward where you started, and plenty of people choose a small top-up later rather than repeating the whole treatment. If the dip is deep, or the hollow carries on into the temples, it becomes a bigger plan, and sometimes balancing the forehead against the brow, nose and chin matters more than filling the forehead itself.
If your concern is the horizontal lines that appear when you raise your brows, filler isn't my first answer. Those lines come from muscle movement, and gel placed over a moving muscle can look lumpy without making the lines go away.
Your recovery day by day, and how many nights to stay
Most of what decides your trip length happens in the first week. These are the usual patterns after hyaluronic acid filler in the forehead; your own swelling and bruising can run shorter or longer.
That's why I'd put the treatment in the first day or two of your stay and, if you can, leave at least five nights after it. Flying with fresh filler isn't usually a problem in itself. The reason to stay is that days one to five are when an early problem would show, and you'd want to be a short ride from the clinic rather than over the ocean.
The hours help on a short trip: weekdays run until 21:00 and Saturdays until 17:00, with Sundays closed, as listed on Delphic Clinic's English homepage. If you land on a weekday afternoon, an evening consultation and same-day treatment can fit into day one. Just plan around Sunday, so that day two or three after treatment isn't the one day the clinic is shut.

It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If your flights aren't booked yet, send your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp and ask which day of the trip to book the treatment. Seeing the whole calendar in one place makes it easier for you to protect those first five days.

What decides the cost of forehead filler?
I prefer to talk about cost openly, because a menu line rarely matches what a particular forehead needs. The biggest factor is how much product your forehead takes: a dip above the brows and a full forehead contour are different amounts. The type of filler matters too, since products differ in firmness and in price.
Two more things move it. One is whether nearby areas, such as the temples or brow line, are treated in the same session so the forehead doesn't stand out on its own. The other is whether you do everything on one trip or start smaller and decide on more at a later visit.
Foreigners pay the same price as Korean patients at Delphic, so the figure you're quoted applies to you as a visitor. Ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case and say which area you have in mind; the clinic's site says your exact cost is shared one-on-one in a consultation.
When I'd tell you not to come for forehead filler
Some foreheads aren't a filler case. If the lines only appear when you move your brows, filler is the wrong tool. If you already have filler in your forehead from somewhere else and don't know which product it was, that needs to be clear before anyone adds more. And if what bothers you is a forehead that looks too large or too high, filler can't make it smaller, because it only adds volume.
The trip itself can also be the problem. A two-night stop in Seoul with a long-haul flight straight after leaves no buffer for the days when an early problem would show. If a mole or spot on your forehead has changed or started to itch, that comes first too; read why an itchy mole should be checked before anyone works near it.
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: redness, needle marks, swelling, tenderness and bruising, which usually settle within a few days to about two weeks. Small firm spots can be felt early on and often soften as the gel settles. How long each lasts differs from person to person.
As general medicine, it's wiser to wait if the forehead skin is inflamed or infected, if you've had a laser or peel there in the past couple of weeks, if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you've reacted to a filler or a local anaesthetic before.
The rare, serious risk is filler entering a blood vessel. The FDA warns this can damage the skin and, rarely, cause vision problems or stroke, and the forehead and the area between the brows have vessels connected to the circulation around the eye. Skin that turns white, gray or blotchy, pain that gets worse instead of better, or any change in vision needs emergency care straight away, wherever you are.
Once you're home, a lump that's still there after two weeks, or redness and swelling that appear weeks later, should be seen by a local doctor. The US CDC's medical tourism guidance advises getting copies of your medical records before you leave, so keep a note of the product and amount used to show whoever sees you.
What do forehead filler reviews get right, and what do they miss?
Review threads about forehead filler tend to repeat three claims. Here's how each holds up medically.
“It was gone in three months.” Sometimes partly true, since small amounts in a forehead that moves a lot can soften early. More often the comparison is day three, at peak swelling, against month three, and the swelling going down gets read as filler loss.
“Filler stays for years.” Hyaluronic acid can remain in the tissue longer than you can see it, so traces outlasting the visible effect aren't unusual. A forehead that still looks full many years later can also mean a different, non-dissolvable product was used.
“The forehead is a dangerous place for filler.” The vessel risk described above is real, and it's uncommon. It's the reason technique, slow injection and a dissolvable product matter more here than in many other parts of the face.
Which methods fit a forehead: hyaluronic acid, collagen stimulators or neither?
Hyaluronic acid filler is the usual choice for forehead contour, mainly because an enzyme called hyaluronidase can dissolve it if the shape looks wrong or a vessel problem is suspected. In an area with this risk profile, being able to reverse it is the property I care about most.
Collagen stimulators work differently. Calcium hydroxylapatite, which is on our menu as Radiesse, can't be dissolved the way hyaluronic acid can, and I wouldn't choose a product I can't reverse for forehead contour. Juvelook, also on our menu, is a booster for thin, crepey skin; it improves the surface and doesn't build a curve.
Sometimes the answer is neither. If the worry behind your search is how to make your forehead smaller, that's usually a hairline question, which is surgery and outside what Delphic offers. Filler can sometimes soften a contrast, such as a flat forehead next to a prominent brow, so the forehead reads as part of the face. The same kind of thinking runs through how I choose between filler and a booster under the eyes.
When you're ready, send one front photo of your forehead in daylight on WhatsApp with the question that's on your mind, for example whether your dip needs filler or something else. When you come in, a doctor examines your forehead and recommends the approach that fits it and your trip.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fly the day after forehead filler?
For most people, yes. Cabin pressure doesn't usually affect hyaluronic acid filler. The reason to stay a few more days is to be close to the clinic during the window when an early problem would show, usually the first five days.
Does forehead filler hurt?
Most people describe pressure and brief stings rather than lasting pain. Many hyaluronic acid fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and numbing cream is commonly used beforehand. Tenderness when you touch the area for a few days afterward is normal.
Can I combine forehead filler with a lifting treatment on the same trip?
Often, yes, but the order and spacing matter. Many doctors prefer heat-based lifting before filler in the same area, or on a different day. Delphic's one-day package covers lifting, toning and skin boosters in one day; ask at your consultation how filler would fit around it.
When can I exercise or wear a hat after forehead filler?
As a general rule, skip hard workouts, saunas and hot baths for the first day or two, and avoid tight headbands, caps or goggles pressing on the forehead for a few days so the gel isn't pushed out of place.
What should I bring if I've had filler before?
The name of the product, the area, the amount and the date, if you have them. A photo of the record from your previous clinic is enough. It matters most in the forehead, where knowing whether earlier filler can be dissolved changes the plan.
