I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, director and lead physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Sinnonhyeon Station. I trained at Korea University Medical Center, and I am a member of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine and the Korean Filler Society. My work is lifting, laser and anti-ageing care, including the skin boosters people book for glass skin.
Many visitors show me a Korean glass skin treatment before and after photo on their phone and ask whether they can look like that by the end of their trip. I understand why; those images are everywhere. Rather than show you more photos, this page explains what actually changes, in what order, and how to judge your own result honestly.
Why most glass skin before-and-after photos mislead
Skin photos are unusually easy to change without any treatment. A softer light, a slightly different angle, a little moisturiser or a better night's sleep can make the after look dramatic. Most before-and-after images online do not tell you which of these changed.
So I never promise a photo. I describe the change I expect in your skin, and I help you take a fair before photo so you can judge it yourself.
Day one: what you see as you leave the clinic
After an Aqua Peel, the surface usually looks cleaner and fresher the same day, sometimes with a little pinkness. After SkinVive, you can expect small raised bumps at injection points and some redness. After Rejuran, small bumps and redness are also common, and the recovery period recorded for it is one to three days.
In other words, the day-one look depends on the step, and for injections it is often less polished than your before photo. That is normal and temporary.
The following weeks: when the hydration starts to show
Once the early bumps and swelling have settled, hydration from a hyaluronic acid booster like SkinVive becomes easier to see as a softer, plumper surface. Rejuran works differently: it supports regeneration of thin, tired skin, so its change tends to be gradual over a course. I explain the Rejuran timeline in detail in my Rejuran before and after guide.
Later on: what lasts and what needs upkeep
The surface glow from a facial is the first to fade, because pores fill and skin renews. Hydration and skin quality from boosters hold longer, but no result is fixed; sun, dry air and your routine all wear it down. A maintenance plan is a conversation for after you have seen your own response.
If you are timing a single visit for an event or a flight home, my guide to timing a glass skin facial before an event covers that narrower case.
Take your own before photo so the after means something
- 1
Same light
Stand facing a window in daylight, not under bathroom or overhead lights.
- 2
Same angle
Take one photo straight on and one from each side, with your phone at eye level.
- 3
Bare skin
No makeup, no shiny moisturiser, and ideally at the same time of day.
- 4
Fair timing
Take the after once early bumps and redness have settled, then again a few weeks later.

The most honest after photo is the one you take yourself, in the same light, once the swelling has gone.— Dr. Hyunji Kim, Delphic Clinic
Faces where the after will look smaller than you hope
- Skin whose main issue is sagging. Hydration does not lift, and I would suggest a lifting plan instead.
- Deep acne scarring. Boosters soften the surface but do not remodel scars.
- Brown spots or melasma. Pigment needs its own plan.
- Someone flying out the day after an injection. The after you take home will be the bumpy day.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.

Frequently asked questions
What does a Korean glass skin treatment before and after really look like?
The honest change is a smoother, more hydrated surface that reflects light more evenly. It is a quality change, not a different face. Photos that look dramatic are often helped by lighting, makeup or timing.
When do glass skin results show after SkinVive?
Small bumps and redness usually settle within days, after which hydration becomes easier to see. The fair time to judge it is after the early swelling has fully gone, not the next morning.
Is Rejuran good for glass skin?
Rejuran uses polynucleotide (PN) to support regeneration of thin, tired skin, so its change is gradual and builds over a course rather than showing as instant shine. Recovery is usually one to three days.
How long do glass skin results last?
Surface glow from a facial is the shortest-lived. Hydration from an injected booster and regeneration from Rejuran last longer, and maintenance depends on your skin, routine and sun exposure.
Why don't my after photos look like the ones online?
Lighting, angle, makeup and the day the photo is taken change skin photos more than most treatments do. Take your before and after in the same light, at the same angle, without makeup.
