Are you worried that Juvelook Volume recovery time won't fit between landing in Seoul and the flight home, or that a lump will turn up after you're back and nobody nearby knows the product? If your leave days are already on the calendar, hold them up against the day-by-day table further down. It covers why your face looks fuller on day one than on day ten, how many days of swelling and bumps to plan for, how long to stay, and what to watch for once you're home, which is what you need to decide whether this trip can hold one session.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyunji Kim, Director · Lead Physician at Delphic Clinic in Gangnam. My background is Korea University Medical Center, and I'm a member of the Korean Filler Society and the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Laser Medicine.
At Delphic the doctor performs the injection, and treatment can happen on the same day as your consultation, which matters when your days are numbered. Foreigners pay the same price as locals, and you get a medical interpreter for your language at no extra charge. On weekdays we're open until 21:00.
Most people plan Juvelook Volume the way they'd plan a filler. They expect the fullness they see in the treatment chair to stay, and then they panic around day ten when it seems to have gone.
For most faces the visible part of recovery is short: swelling and small bumps usually ease within a few days, and a bruise, if you get one, can take about a week to fade. The change you're actually after builds slowly over the following months.
If you're not sure your dates leave enough room, send your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp with one bare-faced photo taken by a window, and ask whether one session fits between them. The one-on-one consultation is free.

Why does your face look fuller on day one than on day ten?
Juvelook Volume is a PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) collagen stimulator that is mixed with liquid before it's injected. Right after treatment, part of what you see is that liquid plus the mild swelling any injection causes. Over the next days your body absorbs the liquid and the swelling goes down. By the end of the first week or two, your face can look close to how it started.
That dip is expected. PDLLA works by prompting your own tissue to lay down collagen around the particles, and that takes weeks. A lot of people judge it at day ten, and that's why so many call it a failure too early.
I cover what the product is and how it's given in my first-timer guide to Juvelook in Korea. Whether the Volume version or the regular one fits your face is a separate question, covered in how Juvelook Volume differs from regular Juvelook.
Juvelook Volume recovery time, day by day
In short, these are general patterns for poly-lactic acid stimulators placed in the deeper layers of the face. Use them to block out your calendar, not as a forecast for your own face.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness and itching among the common side effects of injectable fillers. These are the reactions that fill the first column.
How many days in Seoul should you plan?
For a single session, I'd put treatment early in the trip so the swelling days fall while you're still in Seoul. Then leave at least two or three days before the flight home. Consultation and injection can be on the same day here. We close at 17:00 on Saturdays and stay closed on Sundays, so a weekday is the easier slot.

Say you're 41. You lost weight last year, your temples and the area under your cheekbones have hollowed, and your dermatologist at home told you a collagen stimulator needs several sessions with follow-up that's hard to arrange abroad. You land on a Thursday and fly home the next Wednesday. I'd want you in on Friday, not Tuesday. Saturday through Monday soak up the swelling and any bruise, and you board with the early bumps mostly settled.
If Tuesday evening were your only free slot, I'd say this trip is too tight for Juvelook Volume. That's when hyaluronic acid filler, or a lifting device with little downtime, becomes the better thing to talk about.
Who should wait, and what can go wrong after you fly home?
Risks and side effects to know
The temporary reactions are the ones in the table: swelling, tenderness, redness, and sometimes a bruise, mostly gone within a week. Small lumps you can feel under the skin in the first days are common with this kind of product and usually soften as the liquid is absorbed. How your own tissue responds is individual, and this is the one place where that matters most.
Less often, a firm nodule stays or appears later. A 2020 report in the Annals of Dermatology describes a late-onset foreign body reaction to poly-L-lactic acid that showed up long after the injection. That's rare, but it's the reason to know what to watch for months later, not just days. Rarer and more serious is product entering a blood vessel. Sudden whitening or dusky skin, severe pain, or any change in vision after an injection needs urgent care.
As general medicine, these are reasons to wait or choose something else:
- An active acne flare, cold sore or skin infection where the injections would go
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- A history of keloids or an autoimmune condition, which needs a conversation first
- Filler or threads in the same area recently
- A photo shoot or wedding in the next few weeks that needs a fuller face
Some people don't need Juvelook Volume at all. If your worry is only fine texture or pores, a skin-focused booster or a laser fits better. And if what's really been bothering you is a small red spot you've had for years, that's a separate question; I wrote about telling a cherry spot from a true mole.
If a bump is still hard after a few weeks, or it grows, turns red or hurts, photograph it in daylight and see a dermatologist at home. Bring the product name (Juvelook Volume, a PDLLA stimulator) and your treatment date. Before you leave Seoul, ask for the product and the treated areas written down so you have them.

4.7 · 260 Google reviewsI received ONDA lifting and Juvelook Skin treatment at Delpic Clinic. Before the procedure, Dr. K carefully examined my skin condition and explained everything in a kind and easy-to-understand way, which made me feel very comfortable and reassured. During the treatment, I could really tell that Dr. K was highly skilled, so I felt confident and at ease throughout the entire process. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. It’s definitely a clinic I would love to visit again.
I had a really great experience at Delphic Clinic. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. They explained everything clearly in English and didn’t try to oversell unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. The clinic is very clean and modern, and the whole process felt professional and well-organized. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic, especially if you’re a foreigner looking for a trustworthy place in Korea.
If you've had filler or threads in the same area before, put that history and its rough date into your WhatsApp message, with a front photo and one from the side. Ask whether the earlier treatment changes which areas can be treated this trip.

Aftercare on the flight and back home
Keep this list on your phone for the first week:
- First 24 hours: don't press or rub the treated areas unless you've been told to massage, and sleep on your back if you can.
- Days 1–3: skip the jjimjilbang, saunas, hot yoga and hard workouts, and go easy on alcohol.
- Massage: if you're given a massage schedule, follow it exactly; with poly-lactic acid products it's often used to help the product settle evenly.
- On the plane: drink water, and expect swelling to feel a little more noticeable in the cabin. A cold pack wrapped in cloth is fine.
- Week two: don't book a firm facial massage at a spa, and don't judge the mirror yet.
If you want to see how PDLLA changes look as the months go by, this piece on PDLLA results over time walks through it. The address, opening hours and full treatment menu are on Delphic Clinic's English homepage.
Is one trip enough for Juvelook Volume?
For deep hollowing, often not. Collagen stimulators are commonly given as a course of sessions several weeks apart, so a single visit is usually the start, not the whole plan. One session can be enough for mild volume loss, or as a first try to see how your skin responds.
If you expect to need more than one, plan the second session for a later trip. You can also ask your doctor at home whether they work with poly-lactic acid stimulators, so someone nearby can check on you in between.
What to send before you book
Send one front photo in daylight, your travel dates, and a single question on WhatsApp: with these dates, is one session of Juvelook Volume realistic, and which day should it go on? The one-on-one consultation is free, a medical interpreter for your language comes at no extra charge, and deposit and payment are settled after the consultation, so you can ask about those in the same message. On the day, the first thing I'll look at is where your volume has actually gone, whether the temples, the mid-cheek or under the cheekbone, because that decides how deep the product goes. We're directly connected to Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fly home the day after Juvelook Volume?
Medically, a short flight the next day is usually fine. The swelling may simply be visible, and you won't have seen how any bruise develops. If your schedule allows, two or three days between the injection and the flight give you that margin.
When can I wear makeup again?
Usually from the next day. Leave the entry points bare on treatment day, and use clean brushes or sponges when you start again so you don't rub dirt into fresh needle marks.
Is Juvelook Volume the same as hyaluronic acid filler?
No. Hyaluronic acid filler gives volume you can see straight away and can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed. PDLLA builds volume through your own collagen over months and can't be dissolved that way, which is why placement and depth matter so much.
Can I combine it with a lifting device on the same day?
Our one-day packages combine lifting, toning and skin boosters in a single day. Many doctors use the energy device before the injection so heat doesn't act on freshly placed product. Whether combining makes sense for your face is something to settle in the consultation.
Will a hot bath or jjimjilbang ruin the result?
One visit won't undo the treatment, but heat in the first few days can make swelling and bruising worse and last longer. Most people wait until the visible swelling has gone, usually after about three days.
